C'mon man, yeah props, you are 16-4 in your last 20. Yet, only 3 of those wins have been against teams with a winning record. Where were you when we had a 10-20 stretch? Oh yeah, you couldn't make up any ground.

Just because we lost our ace for a bit and you guys are beating teams you should, doesn't mean you should come over and get all cocky.

Are there any tolerable Cub fans in this world?

It's the Brewer fans that are being cocky. You lose your ace and the team will be just as good? I could turn the tables and say, "Man, how are the Brewers only 3.5 in front of the Cubs after the god awful start they had?"

Regardless, this is and will continue to be a fun season. I never thought my two favorite teams would be going head 2 head for the division championship.

I will also say this, don't count out the Cardinals.

I'm certainly not saying we will be just as good. Sheets has been our best pitcher since the beginning of June, but Gallardo has been outstanding in his brief career. All Brewer fans are just praying he can do well enough to plug the holes until Sheeter gets back. Our other pitchers need to start stepping up now anyway, just like the Cub's pitchers seem to be doing. You are right about the Cards, once they get Mulder and Carpenter back, anything could happen.

The Cubs are clicking on all cylinders right now, I just want to see what they do on the road and/or against teams above .500, just as the Brewers.

You keep on saying like ben sheets was gawhd. He had a 3.39 ERA he wasn't having a cy young year. Nothing close to it. You keep on acting like we have **** to fill in for him. This just in Gallardo would probably be our 2nd best starting pitcher if we didn't want to save his arm. We aint going to LOOSE ANY GROUND BECAUSE OF GALLARDO STARTING get over it .

Cubs fans calling the brewers fans cocky. lolz. thats so **** funny.

That could be the topic for a pretty decent "finish that joke" thread :)

Cards are done. When you have three bullpen players in your starting five, things aren't looking up. I know that Mulder and Carpenter are coming back, but the Cards don't have enough offensive firepower. Their catchers have combined for 2 home runs, Outside of Duncan the outfield has gained 17 home runs, outside of Pujols the infield has generated 8 home runs, and the pitching has been flat out terrible. Reyes went 0-10 before FINALLY being sent down. And while Milwaukee may have the MVP in Prince, St. Louis may have the LVP in Kip Wells.

When you say the brewers should be ahead more after the bad start of the Cubs, I could point out the 10-20 stretch the Crew had earlier. It all evens out by October. And I doubt Chicago is going to play like this the rest of the way, regardless of what their fanbase seems to imply.

I say that the Brewers will win this division by ten games over the Cubs, and you can qoute me on that in your little sig thing.

Hey the Cardinals have a secret pitcher in the minors by the name of Tomo Ohka...except he has a 6.87 ERA in Memphis. But he's a switch hitter but only sometimes.

On another note, did anyone catch Aramis Ramirez on Baseball Tonight? Basically admitted that the Cubs are Scoreboard watchers.

Granted, I'm not a professional athlete, but why wouldn't he be a scoreboard watcher? Don't you think the 'Crew keeps an eye on the board when the Cubs are playing.

This might end up being the most exciting two plus months of sports I've ever been through. A division race with the Cubs? How can it get any better?

I'm sure every player looks at the scoreboard.

I'm just saying, they always interview Yost and Brewers and they say that they're not looking at the scoreboard. And that they have confidence. And Aramis Ramirez on Basbeall Tonight basically implied that they go around in the dugout gong, " Brewers! Brewers! Who's winning the Brewers game?"

Once again, you cannot root for the Brewers and the Cubs. That is idiocy and the same as rooting for Bears and Packers.

And I also love how Ruben comes out of the woodwork now that the Cubs are finally winning some games, talking smack on the Brewers board when the Cubs are still trailing in the division.

Bottom line is this: Cubs are talented but they are not as good of a team they have been the last 20 games. They will cool off. Brewers are a 87-90 win team (actually 87 win team if they play .500 from here on out, so 90 is more likely). We'll see if the Cubs can win 91. Marquis and Marshall are pitching WAY ABOVE what they should be, that will not continue. Capuano/Suppan/Bush have all been pitching below expected, I don't expect all 3 of those to continue.

I like the Brewers chances.

The Cubs have been losing like once every two weeks recently, good job for the Brewers to pull this one out when a rare loss comes.

On Sportscenter, they released poll results. 55% of the country said that the Cubs will make the playoffs. Funny thing though, because 74% votes from Illinois said yes.

See I disagree, I don't see them catching the Padres for the wild card. No way Michael Barrett lets that happen.

..or wait do they mean the division?

Heard this tonight and wanted to post it somewhere...figured this thread would work.

On the way home from work I had ESPN radio on. Not sure what show it was, it was around 11pm. Whoever the host was had Todd Walker as a guest. Walker is a 10 year MLB vet turned ESPN Analyst. While they talked about the NL central, Walker said that he liked the Brewers but with so many young players, and Pinella's superior ability to manage, the Cubs would win the division by "10 or 11 games".

Now, I think the Brewers will win the division, but I can at least listen to the arguments of those who think the Cubs will catch and pass them. I dont agree with them, but I can listen to them. 10 or 11 games, though? Are you F'ing kidding me??? Add Todd Walker to the list of people I wouldnt **** on if they were on fire.
