Not totally convinced this is true, nothing from any of the more reliable sources yet. If it is, it really doesn't make any sense unless they somehow have something lined up to where either JBJ or Cain are getting moved.

Yeah I didn't even look at the source, oops. Nothing from McCalvy yet.

It would be a very weird thing to make up for no reason but people are weird.

I’m not sure Story would be an upgrade for us. I thought he was having a much better year than he is. Hard pass for me

Donaldson though would be really nice, however I’m realistically prepared for Jordan Lyles

I'd say a break away from the game would be good for him but it didn't work last time.

It's Escobar for Cooper Hummel and Alberto Ciprian.

Ciprian is an 18 year old 2B playing rookie ball. Very nice batting splits over a very small sample size.

My guess is that this was the cheaper alternative to bigger moves for Donaldson or Story.

I don't see that he's ever played first base

Like it. Lots of flexibility. Brewers should just YOLO it and trade for sherzer.

Who are the brewers prospects given up? Mlb pipeline doesn't have them listed on their top 30. Not a bad price to give up for a versatile player.

Cirprian seems to be a young lotto ticket. Hummel seems to be a guy that might be able to stick at the bottom of an MLB roster for a few years in a pinch (at best).

According to Dback fans, Eduardo Escobar is the team's best player. Looks like it's a good trade for the Brewers.

I imagine Stearns is looking to swing at least one more deal for relief pitching. They need at least one more reliable late inning type arm with Devin Williams being a bit fragile and not up to the insane level he was pitching at last year.
