Just talked to my very good friend who is a pharmacist. He's not aware of any medications that would cause a spike in testosterone levels.

If he does have a thyroid disorder it is possible either the treatment or condition itself can cause a spike in testosterone. But as someone else mentioned, that would be considered a "natural" testosterone, produced from the body's own feedback mechanisms- not "synthetic"

It's seems like a couple of people are misinformed or maybe it's just me? But hasn't it already been stated that it wasn't a PERFORMING ENHANCING drug, or a STEROID, which would have no effect on his gameplay?

This issue is that the spike in testosterone is indicative of a masking agent used to cover up the presence of a PED. It's what happened with Floyd Landis I believe. And Manny Ramirez never was busted for a PED, it was the masking agent. I think that's how it went down.

Could be, but I know Manny Ramirez was obvious because it was a female fertility drug. Obviously he's not taking that for any other reason than to cover up his usage.

Is it possible that Braun has some sort of erectile problems? Sure, it sounds crazy but it's not unheard of for younger people to have ED or even to use these types of drugs to have better sex. Synthetic testosterone is used for alot of things and it's always a possbility.

The whole thing about Braun having a testosterone level that is an MLB record makes me raise an eyebrow and keeps my mind open to there being a better reason than simply increased peformance on the field.

I'm still sticking to it being one of 2 outcomes:

1) the test was contaminated, manipulated, or just messed up
2) he's using PEDs

Grave's disease doesn't fit the timeline/pharmacology and there truly are no STD meds or first-line ED meds that would cause a spike like that.

Just my 2 cents
