Mark Reynolds and Drew Stubbs in the same MLB lineup.

Over/under 9 million strikeouts.

When a division rival is spending near billions to contend with you and another is winning the World Series, one-up them by trading a top pitching prospect for a projected solid defensive SS/future utility guy.

6/$147 for Greinke. Dodgers, of course. Who else?

Highest-paid rightie ever. Wow. For a guy who's been probably just a borderline ace for most of his career?

I always knew the Brewers did the right thing by trading him, but obviously this affirms it.

I guess I am mistaken there, I was looking at some lower totals in the mid-minors to project that maybe he would regress a bit this year in the majors but I guess he's probably going to be an 8 K/9 guy.

Trumbo might be one of the most overrated hitters in baseball. From July 25th to September 26th, his OPS dropped almost 200 points.

Yeah, that is what I had tabbed him as, too. He had a ridiculously low OBP that seemed to maybe have improved last year until he went back into the toilet.

The question is whether its in his learning curve and he will get his OBP up to .330 or .340 which can be stomached. Or is he just a right-handed Adam Lind?

I just don't think he's a very good hitter. The only places in the minors where he posted an OPS above .850 was Rancho Cucamonga (Brewers got out of there because you couldn't accurately judge pitchers because it was so hitter friendly) and Salt Lake where pretty much every place in that division is extremely hitter friendly (Salt Lake, Albuquerque, Reno, Colorado Springs, Fresno, Las Vegas, Sacramento and Tucson.)

He might be overrated, but he's their 4th best hitter. That's pretty impressive.

Sanchez gave Detroit a chance to match, they go $5 mil higher and Sanchez stays a tiger for $80 million.

Looks like Dickey is going to Toronto for D'Arnaud.

Morrow
Johnson
Buerhle
Dickey
Romero

Not bad.

I'm not going to pretend to act like I have any clue how good or bad RA Dickey will be going forward, and I'm pretty sure he's not going to be what he was last year, but if he can just be the pitcher he was the two years prior that rotation is still looking very solid.

D'Arnaud has some impressive minor league stats though.

6m per seems to be the going rate for decent relievers this year.

At 3yr/18 million that's to pricey for me from a Brewers perspective, but if they would have given money to any reliever, Adams is the guy i'd have liked Melvin to go after.

I'm sure there is some trepidation given Dickey relies on a knuckleball, but it's not like he only had one surprise year last season, his last three years with the Mets have all been good.

That said, if Travis d'Arnaud can stick at catcher in the majors, he's a big time prospect.

Toronto is looking good next year. Once again the AL East is stacked.

Return to Milwaukee Brewers
