Did I say the Yankees would let him go? I certainly wouldn't give up anything of value for him right now. Let him sit in the Yankees bullpen and get non-tendered after the year. I don't really care. He's not enough of an upgrade right now to trade anything of value.

Sonny doesn't even have that great of a track record. Talent is there, so I guess if they truly thought they knew what the issue was I'd take him for free at this point, yeah. Otherwise just let him go this year and maybe try him out as a reclamation project if the Yankees non-tender.

Jayson Werth, unable to make a team this season, lashes out against the 'super nerds' that are 'ruining baseball'.

Super nerds are the ones who said he was a really valuable player in the first place and got him $126 million from the Nationals.

Still bummed we drafted Kodi over Touki. Touki is making his MLB debut tomorrow and flew through the minors with great success. Trea Turner was also a guy I loved at #12 and I still remember hearing Kodis name called and just saying, who? lol. Hindsight is a bitch

Could've traded for him in 2015 if we would've saved any payroll room and Melvin had any imagination.

Cubs just won on a walk off grand slam, they were down 3-0.

Baz was the player to be named later in the Archer deal, that seems lopsided to me now for sure.

Coupled with Glasnow throwing more strikes already and it's not looking good...

I **** hate the "unwritten rules of baseball." They are **** stupid and should go by the way of Keith Hernandez...into irrelevancy with the NY Mets.

You got to hit him, because he is great? :banghead: What other sport would this even be in the conversation? Brady too great, lets do an obviously QB hit- after he releases the ball. Man is just too great.

Time for the league to get serious and set a precedent. You're trying to harm one of the future superstars of the league because he's really good. How **** stupid is that? I say however long Acuna is out for +25 game for the pitcher and the manager. Dumb ****.

ETA: not sure how the law works in situations like this, but what's to stop the Braves from having Urena arrested? If I go out in public and on camera throw a baseball as hard as I can at someone I can get arrested. Should be no difference, though I'm sure intent would be hard to prove.

They can refer Urena for prosecution. It has happened before, albeit extremely rarely, and I can't recall a situation where charges haven't eventually been dropped. The league would probably strongly advise against it because of the precedent it would set for future on-field incidents. Plus, actually proving (beyond a reasonable doubt) that the ball just didn't slip from his hand, or that he wasn't just simply inaccurate when trying to buzz him (Urena isn't Greg Maddux, after all), would be extremely difficult.

It's neanderthalic thinking. We have evolved as humans and the game of baseball should as well. It makes absolutely no sense to hit batters. How about find another weakness in your opponent against one of your strengths instead of just treating baseball like it's the Roman Coliseum?

Ya I agree with everyone that something need to be done. I am SO GLAD that his scans came back negative. That would've been a major black eye for fans everywhere if a 20 year old breaking out into a super star on a historic run had his elbow shattered by an immature **** of an organization.
