Yea I dunno about that

Exactly. No way the video evidence rules out the possibility that he hooked it off the edge of his glove and that's why it bounced. They're assuming the bounce was from the ground, but that's not a 100% safe assumption.

Worked out well with Counsell not pinch hitting Lauer w/ runners on 2nd & 3rd w/ 1 out. Taken out in the bottom of inning.

Seems that this happens all the time when you don't PH for a pitcher. Almost like having to hit and wreck a rally affects the pitcher's performance when he's back on the mound.

Then it wouldn't reenter the glove. Would have deflected away. Either bounced off the glove up into his glove or deck 1st.

Not having Hader as a 2+ inning bridge in that situation plays into the decision too. I feel like the strict closer role helps the regular season record at the expense of playoff leverage.

The broadcast team has been sh*t all series and they're really pissing me off today.

haven't felt this way all series, but I think we're going to end up with 7 or 8 runs. (a little optimism)

When the game was still scoreless I texted my friends that I think urias has a big hit in him today. I’ll take that half inning instead! I’ll take the hit still

Counsell's having a howler w/ his management of the pitching staff this series.
