I've never heard of Breen before tonight and I wouldn't call Andrew Wagner a reliable source for this sort of thing.

I hope Betancourt isn't the starter as he makes prince look like Beltre. Just a rancid defender.

I've been scouring the web and I haven't seen anyone outside of Jim Breen and Andrew Wagner report it. Every other site that's mentioned it just links back to one of those two articles.

How reliable are those two? Sorry don't know Milwaukee sports media.

Well, I hadn't heard of either one of them until 15 minutes ago. So that's something.

But they both have legit jobs - Wagner a writer for OnMilwaukee.com, and Breen a blogger for JSOnline. We'll see how legit they are.

Taking a guess Breen is perhaps what Paul Imig is to the Bucks?

Wikipedia has already been updated

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zack_Greinke

Donald Zackary "Zack" Greinke (pronounced /ˈɡrɪŋki/ GRING-kee; born October 21, 1983) is a Major League Baseball starting pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers. Greinke won the American League Cy Young Award in 2009 with the Kansas City Royals.[1] On December 18th, 2010, it was leaked that the Royals had traded Greinke to Milwaukee.[2]

Some random Atlanta sports reporter named Bill Shanks says it's true on his twitter. Again have no idea about this guy.

Does Breen get a media credential and access to the locker room/players and coaches and such? Paul Imig always has and he actually is full time at FSWisconsin.com now so he is doing more articles now over blog style stuff.

I honestly don't know anything about Breen at all but he very well could be like what Paul Imig was last season.

Dude sounds in over his head. I don't think he realized what a sh-t storm he'd create.

Ya'll can settle down on the Greinke no-trade clause questions. No answer for you. Was never relayed any of that info. #Brewers

I'm good with this deal but if we could get Greinke to sign an extension I'd be ecstatic about it.

If this quack is messing with us I might lose it. You don't report something like that and not be sure.

:wavefinger: Man does not understand the power of twitter and trade rumors. If MLBTradeRumors has no report on this yet, I'm sure if it's really legitimate.

Certainly not denying it. What's that phrase about where there's smoke, there's fire?

I know, right?

My thing is I wonder why he'd scoop Haudricourt. Who the **** is he to get such a huge rumor? You'd think someone national - Rosenthal, ESPN, etc - or a solid, reliable local guy like Haudricourt would get this leak before this dude would.

But if he's right, mad props to him, I suppose.

Well this Breen guy sounds like a goof now, hopefully Wagner has other sources.

You guys act like Breen is some 22 year old rookie journalist who's (Please Use More Appropriate Word). He's been at this for years and is very well respected. He's not Haudricourt, but he's good...and I'm taking his word.

Did you guys read Haudricourt's tweet? He was travelling all day and is looking into it. It's obvious how he would scoop Haudricourt if he was travelling all day.

I hope you're right! I really don't know anything about him. Who's Kevin Goldstein?

The fact that somebody hasn't instantly come out to refute this is giving me hope. Although it is very late at night.

That's a lot to give up, but Greinke can be every bit as dominant as Cliff Lee when he's focused and motivated. He has some odd off the field issues though (mostly lack of focus).
