Santana is far better than Davis if he reaches his ceiling.

He ended his interview with BA and Rock by answering his phone! :D

At first glance, this deal blows the one with New York out of the water. #2, #7, #14, and #21 prospects from one of the deepest farms in the league is a nice haul.

He's a good source and wouldn't post that if he didn't think it was legit. But the face that Parra is playing now makes you doubt it. I wouldn't love that return, to be honest.

Hello from Houston!

Quite an interesting trade that we just saw go down. As an Astros fan coming off of so many years of heartache I love that I'm seeing my team actually making "win-now" moves.

You guys are getting a guy who was seen by just about every Astros "expert" as being off of the table in trade discussions. Clearly the Astros see something in Gomez & Fiers as contributors to an actual right-now contender, so I am super-excited right now. Even if it cost my team one of our top guys (if not "the" top guy") in our system.

I hope that this trade works out for both of our franchises. Down here in Houston we have developed a particular appreciation for our brothers and sisters up in Wisconsin. The Rockets drafted Sam Dekker, the Astros bring in Gomez & Fiers...hopefully the future Mayor of Houston/Governor of Wisconsin, J.J. Watt, approves of this move!

Yes, he can hold both offices concurrently as far as I'm concerned.

A pitcher with a lower ceiling like that - yeah - I'd want to aim a little higher.

Santana has struck out at least 130 times each of his 1st four years don't get me wrong I like him a lot but yeah that's a little bit of a free swinger

Love the trade although it'd be nice to get a 3rd or 1st base prospect one of these days.

A high strikeout total doesn't necessarily equate to being a free swinger.

Entertaining post.

You're talking about Brett Maverick Phillips right? His numbers look nice the past two seasons.

Gomez and Fiers have been awesome Brewers for the years they have been with us, but it was time for them to go. Now I can root for a team in the playoffs!

I hope everybody who joked about Flores crying because he was being "traded" to Milwaukee just saw that Carlos Gomez interview.

He's a free swinger if you don't know what free swinger is. A free swinger is someone who swings at everything and isn't patient, like Segura. That's not Santana.

He'll be ready to contribute very soon from what I've read and heard.
