Re: Brewers/Pirates Series
23 games in 23 days.
TWO of those games against a team that currently has a run differential worse than +24 (Giants, D-backs leading in their games).
TWO of those games against a team that currently has a losing record (Reds won, D-backs ~85% win probability).
ZERO of those games against a team with a bottom-8 run differential (Pirates aren't that bad).
ONE more Pirates game before the Rangers (+91 run differential) series makes 27 games in 27 days.
12-11 record in the last 23 games.
I literally would not expect the '98 Yankees to do any better with all the injuries and other absences the Brewers have had.

6.5 up on Cubs
4.5 up on Phillies
8.5 up on Dodgers
19 to play.
Right now NL wildcard is:
Dodgers/Mets
Cubs/Padres
All big spenders (along with the Phillies)

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

It'll take an epic collapse for the Cubs to catch us now.

No Yeli, Sal or Jackson. Be nice to see Perkins and Ortiz do something today.

Re: Brewers/Pirates Series
Being staked to a 4 run lead and immediately walking the first two guys you face is some inexcusable stuff.

This guy is not trustworthy or ready to pitch for a contender

Re: Brewers/Pirates Series
At the same these hitters consistently seem to be able to foul off his pitches until he throws enough out of the zone. It's been really frustrating to watch.

Way to get out of it. Important because I feel like a lot of times things have snowballed on him instead of him being able to buckle down.

Re: Brewers/Pirates Series
I know I've harped a lot on how difficult this stretch of the schedule has been, but this really shows what I was talking about. You FINALLY face a below average team and you've now outscored them 18-4 in 3 games, in spite of a slew of injuries. This is still the best team in baseball and, when healthy, probably one of the ~10 best regular-season teams of this century. Playing .500 ball for 3 weeks before this series is completely normal under the circumstances, even for a truly great team.

Re: Brewers/Pirates Series
Although I'd still call them below average, certainly, it's noteworthy that this Pitsburgh team was playing abve-500 ball since the AS break and has series wins in the past month over the Dodgers, Red Sox, and Jays. This is a super solid series win, and hopefully series sweep.
