Re: Brewers/Cubs Divisional Series - No Woody
I think starting pitching is my biggest worry. It would not shock me to see Priester struggle, Quintana who knows, and after that its a crapshoot. I don’t see any way Miz gets a start, if he is even on the roster. Almost could see them going with a bunch of combo starts with Patrick, Hall, Ashby, Quintana after Freddy/Priester. And Priester never know either. Young, first time in postseason, etc.

Myers was very good in his one playoff start last year. Given how they hit lefties, Gasser is an interesting choice.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I thought Gasser might be a dark horse because he has talent, but whose spot did he take? I'm guessing Hoskins or Anderson, but I don't see a need for 13 pitchers when you play only 5 games in 8 days, so... Anderson? Sure as hell better not have gotten Patrick's spot.
The Cubs mash LHPs and RHPs. Literally identical .751 OPS against both, with trivial differences in average, slugging, and OBP. For everyone in their lineup who hits from one side of the platoon at a certain level, you can find a counterpart with eerily similar stats from the other side of the platoon. This applies not only to their regulars, but also some of their main bench guys. I'm guessing that Gasser is there so that they can plan on multiple bullpen games with lots of pitching changes?
"Gasser, 2 out of 3 tough LHBs coming up, they're yours and then we're bring in Mis to face 2 out of 3 RHBs... hopefully next inning after you get out of this one." You get the idea.

Looking forward to Anderson slingshotting hanging sliders to their power hitters that land 450 feet from home plate.

I'd easily take Myers over Anderson.

Seems like the Cubs might have been a specifically bad matchup for Myers. That said I don't trust Anderson at all except in mop up duty

Re: Brewers/Cubs Divisional Series - No Woody
Anderson is just meh, but I can understand it. Hall is the big question for me. He and Gasser both stunk in their one-outing auditions for the roster, but at least Hall had a really good season overall. I wonder if he didn't recover well from his last outing.
Lockridge, geez. I prepared myself for the possibility, but I still don't like it. Chourio, Perkins, and Frelick can all play CF. Lockridge is a terrible bat. He routinely tries to bunt out of desperation because he knows he can't hit to save his life. With Boyd and Imanaga each on schedule to start 2 games, plus Pomeranz a key reliever, I think you find a spot for RHB Hoskins. Honestly I still don't even understand why Yelich was getting DH starts against LHPs over him after he came back.

I think Lockridge is purely there to pinch run late in games

FP has really let us down the last few starts in the postseason. Need him to actually act like an ace today.

Imanaga has let in at least three runs his last six starts (eight last time out against the Mets). I think game two is going to be easier than game one
