Meeker is a great story. I wouldm't put it out of the realm he gets onto the 40 man at some point.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

He ended up with 11 ks in six shutout innings. Looked effectively wild.
Black also made some very good plays at 3B.

Re: 2022 Brewers Minors/Prospects thread
Baseball America with a new mock and a new name for the Brewers:
Wouldn't love this one with Meyer still on board.
Meanwhile Law has them going with Troy.

                        18. Brewers — Hurston Waldrep, RHP, Florida
Slot Value: $4,021,400
Total Bonus Pool: $10,950,600
Milwaukee is one of the few teams in the 10-25 range which gets tied to pitchers often, and this board would provide it access to some pretty elite arm talent. Noble Meyer is available, but if he falls this far would the Brewers have the bonus pool money to keep him from getting to, say, Seattle? The same could be true for Thomas White if he’s available. Waldrep does get linked to the Brewers, and he has some of the best pure stuff in the class. If it’s not an arm, then Nolan Schanuel could make a lot of sense, or perhaps even a late-rising college arm like Joe Whitman or Ty Floyd.
Dart Throw Later Picks: SS Eric Bitonti; SS AJ Gracia; LHP Adler Cecil; SS Jay Harry

Milwaukee Brewers – Tommy Troy, Stanford
Troy goes somewhere in the teens, and has the kind of performance and batted-ball characteristics the Brewers, and their draft model, typically value. I think they’re a floor for several college hitters who might slide to this point, or could be a home for Floyd or Waldrep. They’re also a sleeper on Houck if he slides here.

Re: 2022 Brewers Minors/Prospects thread
Nolan Schanuel is an 1B/OF that I don't mind the Brewers taking. Very good BB/K ratio and a need at 1B, plus bats from the left. For pitchers, Brewers should just draft JUCO pitchers. They seem to find talent there.

I don't really want Hurston Waldrep. He had a high ERA at 4.16, and 57 walks in only 101.2 innings is a concern to me.

Miso looks amazing. Has the announcers gushing.
He struck out the side. During the commercial break they still had the audio going in the dugout and you can hear some dude in there says, "That's not fair. That's not fair."

Re: 2022 Brewers Minors/Prospects thread
Literally every post game I've read has lead with Miso and his stuff. He was the star of the day.
Law still see's bullpen.
Maybe. Who knows.

Brewers right-hander Jacob Misiorowski had the best stuff, topping out at 102 mph with a wipeout slider. I saw him in May and the velocity was just a little lower, but I also thought he had to go to the bullpen, so here’s your preview. I’m pretty sure Milwaukee would be happy if he only turns into a reliever with an 80 fastball and 70 slider. (I think he goes to the pen because the delivery is so erratic that he’ll never harness it enough to throw strikes, and you could at least see that in the delivery on Saturday.)
Maybe. Who knows.

Re: 2022 Brewers Minors/Prospects thread
MLB Draft today. Expecting a high hit tool college bat, probably at 3B but can play up the middle.
But Bryce Eldridge would be cool as hell.

Too bad Chorio didn't do anything, 0-4 with 2K's.

I think its Wilson or Troy at 18 and at 33 they'll go pitcher. Kuehler or Soto.

Draft day is always exciting to me. Here's to hoping we sign all the players we pick.

Give me Yohandy Morales at 18. Then draft the best pitcher at 33 that's left.

Callis saying Bradfield won 't make it past 18 if he's on the board.

I don't either. Wilson would be an easier pill to swallow than Bradfield. I don't think Bradfield arm is strong enough for center with his amazing speed it's somewhat wasted. Wilson probably doesnt have much of a defined position like Bradfield but at least the bat to ball skills are there.
