Probably a bit optimistic given the way he pitched last year. Velocity ticked up a bit so maybe they see something in him, or maybe a relief role of value.

The velocity means nothing to me. Everyone's velocity went up when they started the Statcast measurement of velocity out of the hand instead of the Pitch f/x that was 10 feet after the release point. Chase Anderson didn't go from 89-91 to 92-95 because of some special training program or anything. Peralta threw harder than he ever did and sucked balls worse than he ever did.

So what are the causes of yos problems the last few years? Is it as simple as a guy who didn't ever throw super hard and is now not quite able to hit his spots so gets shelled or is it something more complex that could be fixed? I feel like pitches are so damn fickle I never want to rule a guy done in his early 30s but I agree the signs don't seem encouraging.

I've seen this brought up and while I have no idea of his lifestyle and habits if this really is the problem then maybe there is some hope for a bounce back. Hell I partied very hard in my 20s and due to life circumstances like having a kid and just naturally growing up and tiring of that lifesyle i made drastic changes in my early 30s so it is possible.

He was carjacked at 2:30 AM in a really bad neighborhood while he was looking to buy drugs as I recall hearing. I also heard some stories about his late nights out on the town while he was here.

Anyway, let's see if he can rebound back here.

Would anyone be interested in a Santana for Blake Snell?

Snell is starting to come into his own and could be decent SP (#2-#3 type)

Baseball America podcast focused on the brewers farm system. They are high on the system. Good listen.

Is there any way that we can frame and sticky just Thunder Muscle's pull of the Kevin Correia thread and trade proposal? That thing was GOAT. Don't know if serious or just having fun, but that was great either way.

Low risk signings are fine, but Chacin is trash.

Hopefully he isn't just the guy that was propped up by Petco last year.

As long as they didn't give him an insane contract then he's fine as an arm who might be fine as a #5.

He's Wily Peralta without the 95+ fastball when not pitching at Petco.

Oh yeah, I know. It's pretty clear that this is another "wait it out" year and Chacin has had flashes in his career. Just was terrible away from Petco last year. The dollar amount doesn't really matter and I doubt it will be more than 1, maybe 2 years. So I really don't care at all just saying there's a good chance that this one fails.

Honestly, I ask, why are you still here? The Bucks have gotten a unicorn superstar and they still haven't really won me back from the 2002-2011 era of **** ups. Liberate yourself.

I don't know how you look at the splits and think that he's a guy you want pitching in Miller Park. Like I said, I hope he got a nothing contract and is only getting a look as a back-end guy who could quickly be replaced.

I'd follow like two teams if it was as simple as being able to go cold turkey.
