CF Mike Cameron, who begins a 25-game suspension at the start of the season for testing positive for a banned stimulant last year, will go home to Georgia for a few days before reporting to extended spring training in Phoenix. Cameron will join the Brewers in St. Louis in the third week of April to work out with the club in pregame drills. He cannot be in the ballpark when games begin.

I don't know what else to say to this other than you are wrong. Cameron was probably the biggest offseason acquisition (outside of arguably Gagne), and has a track record of success. No matter what Gwynn does in a 25 game sample, it is not going to override Cameron's several year sample. When you also take contracts into account, it just makes it even more definitive.

Yeah, over the last 9 seasons, Cameron averaged 21.44 HRs and 24.66 SBs a year among other things, and is coming off of two good years for the Padres (not exactly easy to hit HRs there, getting to play in Miller Park should mean more HRs per plate appearance this season). He's a gold glover.

I don't think there is anything Tony Gwynn could do in 25 games to eclipse that. Maybe if he is putting up MVP-esque numbers in those 25 games, but that is a really odd hypothetical, even if you happen to be really fond of Gwynn.

I mean, maybe Ned Yost will have a "tough" decision on who to bat cleanup between Braun and Kendall because due to Kendall's lasik surgery, he will be on pace after 25 games to belt 65 HRs this season.
97-98
Nick Van Exel (LAL) on defending the Stockton-Malone pick-and-roll: "Yeah,
I got a way to defend it. Bring a bat to the game and kill one of them."

I think he stated before in some thread that he isn't a major baseball fan but will try to follow a bit more this season.

He's coming around. Always happy to have another fan on the board.

Plenty of room on the Crew bandwagon for all disgruntled Bucks fans.

Why would Bucks fans be disgruntled? They're such a quality organization with quality ownership.

I hear Wendy and Laurel may take over the Bucks. Bando as GM.

Wouldn't be any worse that Kohl. I really wish I could put that in green.

i'm not that much of a baseball fan but i've always kind of followed the brewers. last year was the first year i went to more than 1 game and they were all great so since then i've been more excited about this year.

i still won't watch a game that doesn't involve the brewers (not even playoffs or world series) and i really know very little about baseball but i love watching the games.
