They've done a really nice job around the margins. Finding nice scrap heep pitching. Pro scouting department deserves a hat tip.

Perfect day to finally get Contreras & Adames a day off. Kind of surprised Yelich wasn't given the day off too
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Nvm Adames & Contreras are now both starting

Honestly don't get what Murphy is doing with Contreras. I get letting him DH from time to time but he should be getting real days off from time to time to. Asking a catcher to go 162 games isn't a viable strategy. Absolutely no reason he should be catching today

It's funny he has a higher WAR this season than Burnes. I'm not sure he's going to be a 900 OPS guy but he was a good prospect so it's not crazy to think some of this is sustainable.

Not ideal having a big bullpen day with Philly up next. Hopefully Peralta can get to 5
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Ngl, I always hold my breath for Freddy starts. Always have - has nothing to do with today, but I certainly think of it when innings like that happen.

I like Freddy and he can be downright nasty some starts but theres always a chance it can be a **** show with him once things start to unravel.

Seems like it's mostly command. Been that way since day one, and I think this is who he is. The hitters have no idea where his fastball is going to end up, but sometimes he doesn't know either. It's almost like it's two sides of the same coin. His goal for the year was 200 K's and 200 IP's - 200 K's is realistic, but 200 IP's is downright delusional.

All is well that ends well but gd, you're literally better off with a GIDP than botching a safety squeeze in that situation. I'm okay with them bunting when it's not expected, but I'm sick of throwing away outs when it is.

I would prefer that the Brewers would stop whining about strikes being called strikes. That last one was bad, but I would be tempted to ring them up on a ball too if I was that ump.

Pham should have been called out automatically there IMO. I'm sure the rule is more flexible than I am, but run on the damn dirt when you're not rounding a bag anyway. He deserved to get punked for challenging Yeli's cannon though.

Cubs lose, we've built a nice cushion for when the inevitable rough patch happens.

Biggest division lead in baseball, pending Cards-Phillies. Will be at least tied for biggest division lead either way. Half-game behind the Dodgers for a 2-seed and bye, but it's obviously too early to watch that, and I doubt that it will still be this close in a few months.
