It's a shame that the White Sox don't have a better farm system because Kenny Williams has shown in the past that if he really wants to trade for a quality major league player, he isn't afraid to trade prospects to get that guy.

Maldonado never will have more value tan he does now, he is nowhere near a .280 hitter, once the book on him is written he will fall back to the .220 range....I just believe in trading at high value and this is as high as it will get.

Yeah, you put the Rangers prospects in Chicago and I think it's possible we could land Profar+ for Greinke. Kenny doesn't mind overpaying.

The White Sox earlier this year became the first team to use eight rookie pitchers in one game, and collectively, they've had enough success to form a decent package. The best of the rookie pitchers may be Addison Reed, Jose Quintana, Hector Santiago and Nate Jones.

Addison Reed: 4.11 ERA, 35 innings, 16 saves, 9K/9, 23 years old
Jose Quintana: 2.58 ERA, 11 games started, 76 innings, 1.057 WHIP, 5.2K/9, 23 years old
Hector Santiago: 3.76 ERA, 38 innings, 4 saves, 9.9K/9, 24 years old
Nate Jones: 3.43 ERA, 42 innings, 1.429 WHIP, 9K/9, 26 years old

Jose Quintana looks good but the rest are meh relievers.

You think other teams don't know he's not a .280 hitter? 10 seconds on the internet and they can find his minor league stats. He doesn't have the value to get us another good piece.

Jose Quintana is not good, he's lucky and it will run out.

I'm seeing on twitter that the Rangers have moved around their rotation to leave Sunday open.

The Weather Channel thinks Greinke should go to LA. Yep, THE WEATHER CHANNEL.

The Weather Channel is garbage. Seriously, worst station ever. There is no weather on it at all.

Those relievers all have decent potential, to be honest, but you don't trade a top piece for a reliever. You can revamp your bullpen in much better ways at another time.

Saves should never be mentioned when discussing trades. It's a nice stat to see how many games you're winning and how he has not sucked, but I'd never look at the number of saves to consider if I should make a trade. The stat itself mostly sucks outside of the fact that if a reliever is good and was given the role, he's getting them. Sometimes a reliever can suck and rack up 35 saves.

Quintana, as noted by twirly, will come back to earth soon.

I meant to add blown saves also, just forgot to go back and find the stat. 3 for Reed and 2 for Santiago. I mean the relievers don't look awful but like you said Grendon, you don't trade a top tier player for relievers.

BF.net, no clue if he has a source.

Greinke is an Angel is what I'm hearing. I imagine it will be announced shortly. No idea on the return...
