You really aren't a fan of Jansen's 1st 26 plate appearances are you? Lol

Here's the list of all the Cubs I have liked over the years.

Image

Honorable mention to Milt Pappas, who once pitched a no-hitter for the Cubs (a 9th inning walk away from a perfect game). I watched that game at my cousin's house in Chicago and was not allowed to move out of my chair for the last three innings.

Why Pappas? He unashamedly faced the world with some serious complexion issues. I remember getting this baseball card when I was a kid and being amazed by the state of his face.

That's zit. That's my list. Hate all the rest, including the entire current roster. Let's make them regret they played two today.

Haase had better numbers in his first 26 PA's this year. 8-). Hopefully Jansen turns it around.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Boyd starting game one so Taillon will go in game 2. He still needs to be activated and hasn't pitched in several weeks (calf). Taillon had 84 pitches in his final rehab start.

Seigler and Jansen haven't hit particularly well, but I think swapping out utility/bottom-of-the-order guys that can't get on base, with guys that can, matters more than people realize.

When the broadcast said Patrick had 3 wins I thought I misheard. Not that wins really matter for a pitcher but it's kinda crazy how much our surge coincided with sending him down.

Patrick had a really good April and a pretty good May. 3 bad and 2 good outings in June

As someone who liked the trade, I think the Jansen acquisition comes off a little worse because the difference between him and Haase has been negligible at best. Plus it's not like their track records beforehand were that drastically different to where we can expect some huge positive correction to Jansen's production.

I agree Seigler's been totally fine and not really worth complaining about. Obviously the OPS is ugly but he's played solid 3B, can play emergency catcher, runs the bases well, and has a .435 OBP in August. As an AAAA guy he fits the team DNA very well.

If Jansen doesn't start flashing the power that made him a useful bat in Tampa, then I'd agree it was a failed/pointless trade. Was just never a fan of Haase at all so I didn't really see the downside. Or maybe I'm just a sucker for Catchers that don't wear batting gloves (*Jason Kendall magic fingers*)....

I feel like at some point in every game I watch, Ortiz is coming up to bat with the bases loaded.

Dick head cubbies needed their rain delay so they don’t go down 0-2. Now they can hit today. Bunch of loser trash.
