Why not bunt? Wasn't it Gerut that Macha commented about being unsure about his bunting ability? If that's the case, why is he in there? That's EXACTLY why you bunt in that situation. Thanks a lot Ned Jr!

That's right, Gerut can't bunt. But Casey can. And if he can't bunt at least try to steal or hit and run.

Very unimpressed with Macha lately.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I still can't believe a bench player can't bunt. That is just lazyness

I was watching the Cubs-Braves game last night and Len Kasper said that the last sac bunt Garrett Anderson had was in 2000.

Ken Macha has a serious Yost infection.

Does anyone else feel that it is strange and extremely surprising that the Brewers are in 1st place?? Seriously..... some random thoughts

1) starting pitching has been horrible for the past week
2) we have no base stealing, and subpar baserunning
3) NOBODY is stepping up for the loss of Weeks and I mean NOBODY!
4) Minus Fielder, this game was a joke
5) Every time Counsell gets out he grounds out to 1st base area - wtf?
6) Macha shows ZERO emotion and it pisses me off
7) Why is Parra still in the majors?
8) Hoffman has been amazing
9) Why is Bill Hall still on our team - I hate what little he brings to the team
10) Please trade Corey Hart
11) We have 1 player barely batting over .300 and somehow we are still in first
12) Hardy is STILL struggling at the plate = seems like forever
13) The recent additions to this team have done nothing: Gerut, Gamel etc.
14) The Brewers are the third best team in this division
15) the only players I get excited for at the plate are Braun, Fielder, and Gamel (Gamel because of potential and not recent performance)
16) losing Weeks really sucked
17) We need a leadoff hitter and a #2 pitcher asap if we want to be a contender = bye bye Parra and Hart and move Counsell down in the batting order
18) nice 4 strikeouts today Cameron - am I ther only one waiting for this guy to start dropping off quickly??
19) Rivera deserves a chance to play half of the time behind the plate due to the small bat of Kendall
20) Thank God for Gallardo
21) We are also in dire need of a solid pinch hitter
22) our next series against the Braves will be a true test of our teams confidence
23) i have had thoughts of swapping McClung and Suppan although I know it will never happen (then replacing Parra as mentioned above)
24) Why do I feel like we are in 3rd place?
25) At least the Cubs are struggling

I know 25 is a lot of random thoughts but what a frustrating series!!! Your thoughts??

I think a lot of fans are overreacting. I'm frustrated, too, but we're in first place despite a number of everyday players under-performing and we're in a financial position to improve our club.

Not that I agree with why those commercials are being taken off, but I'm happy. Those commercials sucked.

God Cam you suck.

I think players are allowed to have a bad game now and then, just not every game like Hall.

I'll take .282/.386/.537/.923 with great defense everyday of the week.

I don't really agree. We have a lot of good base runners. Cameron, Hart (when he feels like hustling), Counsell, Weeks when he was healthy. We just have a few slow guys like Hardy, Fielder and Kendall too.

3) NOBODY is stepping up for the loss of Weeks and I mean NOBODY!

Who is supposed to step up? Counsell has been decent, but we couldn't expect him to continue posting a .900 OPS and McGehee has done a good job when he's played as well.

6) Macha shows ZERO emotion and it pisses me off

I don't really care about the no emotion. I care about him going all Yosty on us in the past week.

7) Why is Parra still in the majors?

I'm not sure. I want him in the minors too. I think they might have considered it if the bullpen wasn't completely stretched out. We already have two guys up from the minors in the bullpen. Maybe they'll consider it if he bombs in his next start.

9) Why is Bill Hall still on our team - I hate what little he brings to the team

$$$

10) Please trade Corey Hart

Yeah, he's kind of wearing thin on me too.

11) We have 1 player barely batting over .300 and somehow we are still in first

Batting average means nothing. We have two guys with OBP's over .400 and another guy (two if you count Counsell) over .380.

12) Hardy is STILL struggling at the plate = seems like forever

Since April Hardy is hitting .305/.389/.452/.842.

13) The recent additions to this team have done nothing: Gerut, Gamel etc.

In Gamel's case, it would help if he played everyday.

14) The Brewers are the third best team in this division

Based on what?

18) nice 4 strikeouts today Cameron - am I ther only one waiting for this guy to start dropping off quickly??

Why would you wait for that? He's going to struggle. However, he's still a well above average hitter in CF (and overall) and a great defender, so even when he's not hitting, he'll provide value.

19) Rivera deserves a chance to play half of the time behind the plate due to the small bat of Kendall

Agreed.

21) We are also in dire need of a solid pinch hitter

22) our next series against the Braves will be a true test of our teams confidence

So if they win 2 of 3 or sweep they're confident, but if they win 1 of 3 or get swept, they have none?

24) Why do I feel like we are in 3rd place?

Because we had a 1 game lead heading into this series and lost 3 of 4?

Good post twirl - once I put a little more thought into my post I found myself agreeing with you on most of your replies. Mostly I was frustrated but: I didn't realize Hardy is batting .305 since April (it does not seem like it), its my opinion with Weeks out for the year - the Cardinals and Cubs will pass the Brewers in the Central if starting pitching and a leadoff hitter isn't added, and about the Crew's confidence in this next series? I beleive the Braves are an even better team than their record would indicate, and after getting dominated by a sub .500 team and losing 3 of 4, I think it would be huge for our team confidence to take the series from the Braves on the road! Whereas if we lose the series I would certainly consider this team in a slump.
