Game 26: Crew at Cards - 7:15

Gallardo vs. Wacha. Would be nice to take 2/3 from these bastards. Then we get the Reds for 4. Stay hot and open up a nice big division lead.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

2 of 3 would be freaking awesome. Going to be tough without Braun and Jean tonight, just hope Yo keeps throwing like he has been this year and not like he normally does against the Cards.

I like our chances to keep winning series as long as injuries don't bite us in the ass. We def dodged a bullet with Jean only missing a couple games.

Gonna be a challenge to win anything with Elian Herrera as our RF the next few days. I know that Overbay and Reynolds played a few innings of corner OF with the Yankees (both?) and Orioles (Reynolds) and that may not be a terrible experiment in one of these games. Shouldn't need to do this a ton as the season goes by given Braun is supposed to be back later in the week and Schafer as well, but in the interim, we need some guys that can hit anything back in the lineup.

EDIT: I don't see that in either case for Reynolds. Maybe both teams had talked about it once they had logjams at their corner IF/DH spots after some injuries. He did play OF way back for a few innings with the D-Backs.

Hopefully no big innings and he'll be ok.

This probably wouldn't happen, but as a gigantic Weeks fan for most of his career, could they cut him? It would be nice to bring up Gindl for a few games and Eugenio Velez/Bianchi/Herrera could man the other side of the platoon with Scooter at some point.

I'm with you here. At some point if he doesn't get it going soon you can't justify keeping him on the roster. I guess they are gambling that we see a typical "hot rickie" month but he's pretty much been a .200 hitter who can only play 2nd and isn't even that good at that.

Yep, No Braun or Segura for a few days, Aramis and Lucroy have been not great lately. If we can go 3-4 this week I'll be happy.

Yeah, right now Weeks is killing 3 positions. He isn't playing well even in a platoon role at 2B...they need to keep Herrera or Bianchi around even at full healthy because Weeks (and Gennett) cannot back up any other positions, and it is a roster spot that is taking their ability away to have even just a "decent" corner IF or OF platoon bat on the roster.

We'll be lucky to take 1 in St Louis and 2 in Cincy.

Yeah, at this point with all these injuries just don't get swept in STL.

I am SHOCKED that Carpenter is on second base with no outs. God I hate the Cardinals and their generic create a player squad. Here's to mental midget Gallardo not showing up for once against them.

I am also SHOCKED that hit and subsequent run happened.
