Gomez is going up for his appeal on Monday, and should get a decision pretty much immediately. He'll start serving his suspension next week, assuming it isn't reduced to zero.

If GoGo's suspension sticks, the next week will be torture without him and Braun in the lineup unless Rami and Luc get out of their funk.

agreed. as good as we've been, it feels like a skid might be coming here. here's to hoping that doesn't happen.
good news, cubs beat the cards already today.

Luckily they have a home series against the godawful Dbacks. I think even with all of that working against them, they could still sweep that series.

Could have sworn Bill just said Braun might go on the DL tomorrow. With Carlos probably serving that suspension next week, kinda wish they would have just put Braun on the DL at the start of this road trip.

That quick inning helped.

Braun might be out a month? Really hope that isn't the case.

This offense is horrible right now.

Leake with 3 innings, 34 pitches, and perfect so far? Yikes.
Kind of goes without saying that the hot start was a fluke for the crew. They don't really know how to play the game. That said, they've got enough raw talent and enough of a head-start to make the playoffs. But man, sometimes it's hard to believe that they were the best team in baseball in April. I'm just crossing my fingers for a good trade at some point.

Can't we back date it a week if we wanted to at this point?

"anything but a double play ball should get a run in"
You knew what was going to happen after he said that.
