Arroyo (2-2, 6.03 ERA) vs Peralta (4-1, 2.04 ERA)

Dbacks lineup:

RF Gerardo Parra
3B Martin Prado
1B Paul Goldschmidt
C Miguel Montero
LF Cody Ross
3B Eric Chavez
CF A.J. Pollock
SS Cliff Pennington
P Bronson Arroyo

Crew lineup:

CF Carlos Gomez
2B Scooter Gennett
C Jonathan Lucroy
1B Lyle Overbay
3B Mark Reynolds
RF Caleb Gindl
SS Jean Segura
LF Logan Schafer

Hopefully Wily can continue his hot pitching and the offense can do something across a whole game.

Kind of looks like Marc Lasry in the 1st row behind home plate.

Hey some early offense and a run. Pray that isn't all we see today. I'm shocked RR actually gave Rami the day off. He badly needed it though. Would love if he isn't needed at all today and can get two full days off.

This Brewer lineup is disgusting. Get well soon, Ryan.

Sweet baby Jesus. Gomez bunts to finally get someone on base and Gennett immediately grounds into a double play. A series loss to this team will be embarrassing.

Khris Davis is utterly baffling.

http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?pl ... osition=OF

Contrary to my initial assumption, he's actually seeing more pitches in the strike zone this year than last (44% -> 51%). His contact rates though, have fallen off a cliff. Overall, he's making 7% less contact on his swings this season. He's just whiffing - even on good pitches to hit.

81 pitches in 7.1 innings for Arroyo? Sounds like he's pitching against the Brewers. The strategy might work at certain times for certain hitters like Gomez (who awesomely walked 3 times yesterday) but you can't have the whole team doing 2-pitch at-bats all the time. Khris Davis should not be doing that. Same for Segura, Gindl et al.

So frustrating. Do we need to make a trade or something?

This last week + of games has really tempered my enthusiasm. We are lucky to have even won 3/4 games.

the only good thing about this stretch is literally everyone else in the division has been as bad.

I don't know about lucky--the pitching has been lights out. Our offense has been overall poor, but the pitching has been so good--how many times have we given up more than 3 runs? Can't expect the pitching to be that good for the whole season, at some point, the offense has to produce.

Ugly stretch they are in. Just not playing well. Hopefully the off day helps some. Stating the obvious but you just can't lose a series to a bad team like this.
