Well we're closing in on the season, any roster predictions? I'll go....
1. Lucroy
2. Lind
3. Gennett
4. Segura
5. Aramis
6. K. Davis
7. Gomez
8. Braun
9. Parra
10. Maldanado
11. H. Gomez
12. Jimenez
13. Clark
14. Lohse
15. Wily P
16. Garza
17. Fiers
18. Nelson
19. K-Rod
20. Broxton
21. W. Smith
22. Jeffress
23. Cotts
24. Thornburg
25. Wooten
H. Gomez over Sardinas as I believe Gomez is out of options and Sardinas will get more ABs in AAA. I think they keep Clark up as a bat off the bench the way he's hitting, and potential issues with Lind injuries. It sucks having (2) LH 1B though. Jimenez doesn't appear to be having a great camp but think they'll keep him around unless they go 5 OFs where then I'd go Shane Peterson.
Only reason put Cotts in there as I think he's guaranteed 3M. I have Blazek starting at AAA, Thornburg as long reliever, and took Wooten over Kintzler. Although I think Kintzler may have a guaranteed deal so that could factor in maybe.

Looks like I missed on Clark and Wooten, as Schafer and Blazek are getting the nod. Not too bad.

They usually carry 5 OF. Parra will only get time at 1B if Lind gets hurt. If Lind isn't hurt, then Parra should never once step at 1B other than maybe a strange rest day.

Almost think they would throw Lucroy at 1B over Parra too. Unless they read the ESPN Mag article showing how Lucroy is most valuable as a catcher with the new "framing" analystic stat and how he is the most underrated (and underpaid) player in baseball.

If Lind gets hurt, I'd still put Parra there most days. I'd rather have him, Davis, and LuCroy in the lineup against RHP rather than Parra, LuCroy, Maldy. Now, that assumes everyone is healthy.

IMO, i wouldnt have Schafer
id only bring him up if someone gets injured
i prefer an extra RP
and it sounds like we had to make a hard decision on which RP to send down

Agreed about Schafer. Herrera is much better than him imo.

The only thing Herrera has on Schafer is positional versatility but that versatility is negated by him sucking on defense everywhere except the outfield. Either way, other than Parra our bench is very likely to suck again.

Yeah our depth is going to the Achilles Heel I think.

They have depth but it is in the minor leagues. I don't really get that line of thinking when they know a couple of these guys will have a number of days off and in Ramirez case even scheduled days off. If this was a video game I wouldn't care who they rot on the bench but these bench guys are going to be playing a bunch.

Every team has depth in the minors. Ours sucks compared to the rest of baseball.

Jimenez is probably the most important guy on the bench since he should play the most in resting Ramirez and when Lind likely sucks vs lefties, forcing Roenicke to use a platoon which should have happened right away, Jimenez could potentially get some starts there also if he hits reasonably well.

Roenicke shouldn't even start the year with Lind playing every day. I am hoping his "might not platoon Lind" talk was just lip service.
