It's true.

No we got Schafer and Phillips so we're fine. I'd imagine Schafer is the stop gap until we don't have to start Phillips' service clock a year early.

I doubt it. I'd look at it more as him being under contract for multiple years, the Brewers still wanting to win next, and having a hole at closer otherwise. This is especially the case if Lind doesn't get traded, although if they got a near ready 3rd baseman that could actually help them next year with Santana also coming aboard. That domestic violence charge was a couple years ago now, teams want to win, and he could really help them.

Cespedes heading to the Mets. Will be interesting to see the return - "2 minor leaguers" is the report right now.

We have a 15% chance at that 2nd wild card next year.

Not that it shouldn't be a problem, but no one is really talking about K-Rod's DV issues. I don't think it stops teams from bringing him in if so inclined.

My god - the Padres - what a mess. As noted, their offseason was incredibly flawed...and now they did nothing at the deadline. Kennedy and Upton walk for nothing. Cashner, Ross, Kimbrel (as his arm deteriorates) get a year closer to FA in a worthless timeframe.

lol...

I can see and hope that the Brewers are active in the offseason. Segura, Lucroy, and Lind could all have some serious interest from contending teams.

This is why people were worried and still probably are.

We were going to offer an extension to a guy who's having a career year while in the midst of a terrible season. Luckily Parra wasn't interested.

If we wanted to keep Parra I highly doubt we even considered moving Lucroy, Lind and K Rod.
