Brantley was the PTBNL in the CC trade. He was productive in the minors, I recall, but I don't think anyone had him projected to be close to this good. The Greinke trade was probably a toss-up, since we at least got Segura out it.

The real issue is the lack of overall drafting to replenish the system. Until recently, we would still be very light on pitching prospects with or without those trades.

That was nowhere near a toss-up.

Escobar and Segura is probably a toss-up. Giving up Odorizzi and Cain for 1.5 years of Greinke is a massive win for the Royals.
