The elite top and the putrid bottom of the NL is a big storyline of the season. As for the Brewers, they will be unexpectedly competent. Journeymen and average talents in their primes are better than washed-up former all-stars. This year will be proof of that. Also, a lot of guys they've had over the years have been clueless on the basepaths and hapless in the field; improvements in those areas will offset some of the lost offense.
