Definitely a combination of age, position and team. The first two have been well documented. The third, being a small market team, is the cherry on top. Teams know we gotta trade the guy or risk getting nothing. Teams know we simply can't afford to come away empty handed. So if you were a trade partner what would you do ? It's not rocket science. It's also human nature. Stearns is trying to win a no blinking contest with sand being tossed in his face. There is absolutely no leverage of saying "screw you and your lowball offers, we are just going to re-sign him ourselves." This is the perfect storm of trying to sell ice cream to eskimos so to speak. And please stop comparing Lucroy to any pitcher trades. It gives me concussion-like symptoms.

I have always been very careful not to go all in on the Brewers because the playing field is not level and very rarely do the stars align for such teams swimming upstream. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. We will always pay a premium for incoming talent and for the most part, have to accept less on outgoing talent.

No idea what made me think they could lose to 'Zona. That squad is a dumpster fire right now. Brewers are much more talented despite their records. Was kind of hoping they'd lose at least one with Garza and Chase the last couple days, but their pitchers are even worse. And to think they were trying to go for it this year...

One more quality start from Garza on the 31st and maybe you can unload him for a AAA reliever.

For those that watch religiously each game, what are your thoughts on Counsell as Manager?

I listen to almost every game on the radio because of my job, but one thing I notice about Craig is he always sounds so annoyed in post game interviews, he's always huffing and puffing, not a great speaker by any means. Seems like the guys like him though

The #Brewers have placed Jacob Barnes on the 15-day DL with elbow soreness and recalled Michael Blazek from @skysox

Besides playing **** veteran guys like Kirk im more than ok with him. He seems to evolve with baseball and open to trying new things. He lets his players play to their strengths and uses the pen wisely. CC has done a really good job.

I've listened to a lot of games this year and I've hardly even noticed Counsell, which is obviously a good thing because it means he's not making bone-headed decisions all the time. Yost and Roenicke had me slamming my beer on the table almost every day.

I wish he'd teach Villar to stop making high-risk, low-reward decisions on the basepaths, but it doesn't seem to be a team-wide epidemic like with RR. There have been a few times he let the pitcher hit and then pulled him next inning but whatever, he's been pretty good.

I really want Broxton to start hitting b/c he has the look to be a pretty good OF. Starting to think he one of those AAAA guys though, too good for AAA but cant cut it in majors.

Did Villar get ejected or benched? Just saw Elmore in the game now.

Listening but not watching. Did villar get benched for stealing 3rd with 2 outs and Luc at the plate. If so, God bless CC. Been wanting someone who would do that for years. RR never told Gomez or Segura to knock it off and I always thought that was as pathetic as some of his other decisions.

I made the first post literally about 15 minutes before Villar got caught stealing 3rd with 2 outs AGAIN, and with one of the Brewers best hitters at the plate. Then Villar was benched with no apparent injury when the Brewers came out on defense. Just wanted to point out the uncanny timing.

Just got back from swimming and the score. Has the game been as funny as the box score?

Yes it has been very comical. 3 first inning errors. Two Yasmany dingers and quite possibly Villar's worst game ive ever witnessed. CC yanked him from the game. Oh and Kirk has also been awful. Oh wait theres more. Were getting one hit.

I really like Counsell so far. Although I liked Roenicke (not a manager any longer) and hated Yost (has a World Series ring)so take that for what its worth.
