The Pirates are such a pretender. What a joke.

I know it's better for the draft if we wouldn't have swept them, but I **** love taking it to the Pirates. **** em.

The Brewers just own Pittsburgh. So strange.

This sentiment has to stop though. Too few games left not to care about losses.

And if we were going to **** with any team, I'd much prefer it be the Cardinals. Obviously I hope we lose out but the Pirates are such a weird team for a Brewers fan to hate. The only reason I hate them is our **** team inexplicably owns them and they're almost single handedly **** our draft position.

I'm not sure what you expect. They sold their best trade assets and are clearly rebuilding. In the meantime, you can't coach these guys to lose. Do you want them to purposely miss pitches? Drop pop ups?

Plus, the MLB draft is such a crap shoot I'm not nearly as worried about that as I would be if this is the NBA.

No its more of a shot at what a **** show the Pirates are and your post about loving to take it to the Pirates. It also absolutely significantly matters even more so than ever that every loss counts. Its not just the closer to the top as "crap shoot" like you call it but the bonus pools. The MLB draft has also gotten significantly more accurate over the last 10 or so years as well.
On any level dropping a pick slot is way more important than sweeping the **** show in Pittsburgh.

Meh. My "sentiment" isn't going to change how the Brewers play. If they win, I'll find some joy in that. If they lose, I'll take solace in that, too.

Very curious to see what the brewers do a first base next year. Do they simply keep carter and hope to move him at the deadline? Move braun there and open up playing time in the OF for a young guy? Move santana there if theres long term concern with the elbow? Give this new guy from texas a shot?
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

I think its incredibly difficult to try and guess anything for next season. There is a very real possibility that CC, Braun and Santana could all be traded away. Just really glad we'll see some losses over the next two series'.

They have young talent. Its undeniable. This is what we hoped Santana would look like all year and Villar has been special. Perez is right behind in the surprise of the year. If they can somehow turn these guys into major pieces in the system we may be taking about something legitimate. Its also great to see Arcia hitting good MLB pitching. Always hoping for a loss obviously but the young guys are looking good. Just get Susac in there behind the plate over Maldy and Broxton over Turdenhuis then we may be on to something goiing into next year.

I mean, I don't get the reasoning behind the push to move Santana. He just turned 24.

When you play young guys, sometimes they improve and you get wins. Shocker. This is what fans should want. The word tank carries with it such a hilarious connotation for me. I really think some fans have come to believe that word is or should be part of team meetings or something, but that's a whole other conversation. So instead of being happy that the young guys are somehow participating in some kind of success, you worry that they are grinding out too many wins ?? I guess we could always threaten to send them back down to AA if they progress too quickly :banghead:
Shouldn't you be happy we play Nieuwenhuis so much ? We don't want to become a juggernaut too soon !

The real intriguing thing for me is to sit and wonder if we are any worse off without Lucroy etc. It really shows the complexity of putting together a winning team. Most days I look up and down that lineup and wonder how we score any runs at all. I look at the Cubs lineup and it really doesn't blow me away. Nobody even hitting over .300. Maybe its all about the pitching after all. Crazy to think about how hard it must be to find that balance as a GM, especially for Stearns who doesnt have the luxury of signing guys to fill in the gaps. Really need a couple perfect storms to come together in order for a market like us to have success. The whole Braun, Fielder, Hardy, Weeks thing is crazy when you really think about it, and it still wasn't enough, and the window far too fleeting. Kills me we can't have a level playing field for this 'sport'.
