Only Barometer woulda have been the Segura to Mariners trade. All it takes is one team.


It's quite possible that Stearns was dangling him and that sort of package just wasn't there this offseason, though.

Or its quite possible we over played our hand by trying to sign him to an extension with zero thought of entertaining the idea of trading him.

We tried to extend Jean Segura, failed, he sucked for 2 years and yet he was still your example of a trade we could get. Villar is slightly older in terms of when he broke out for the Brewers but give it time.

I'm not even trying to discount your idea that he should have been traded and they could have passed on something, but we just don't know.
