Braves @ Brewers

Post#1 » by Turk Nowitzki » Sat Apr 29, 2017 3:17 am

Brewers were up 4-0 and 8-4 and the pitching staff gave up both leads.

Now Feliz surrenders the go-ahead two run HR to Freeman. That's a special kind of terrible. WTF??

The problem was that there were no good relievers left. Would you have been happy to see Tommy Milone in a tie ballgame in the ninth, perhaps Jhan Marinez. The bottom half of the bullpen sucks big time. If they are not going to bring up Lopez to replace Garza they might as well bring him up to solidify the pen.

Can't disagree. Lopez isn't really the kind of prospect whose clock you worry about too much anymore, and you can't manage your 40-man effectively by keeping guys in the minors so long all the time. I would have fully supported cutting Kirk and keeping Phillips for the same reasons. Then we'd still have Miguel Diaz.

Why does every single Jimmy Nelson start have to be "gutsy"? I know a lot of pitchers have been worse, but I hardly recall any pitchers laboring and grinding out another poor start like him so often. Some guys just bomb completely, but he's bound and determined to stay on as a fringe MLB starter no matter how often he gets knocked around.

Please have Tommy Milone pitch in every game.

Hindsight is 20/20 but what do you guys think our record would be if we kept our relievers from last year ?

Thornburg and Smith are hurt, so not much different.

Nice to see Santana have a good game. They need more of that out of him. I've always been high on him but at some point he needs to produce like a real corner OF. Hell even if hes not the RF of the future it would be good if be hit well enough to fetch something in a trade.
