Will our first place run be done soon?

Davies command has been awful all year. I wouldnt be shocked one bit to see him go to Biloxi to figure out his mechanics. Espino and Wilkerson deserve real shots in the rotation.

I sure hope so. He's been an excellent pitcher the last 2+ seasons.

Espino is terrible. Any other day in any other stadium, he would've given up 3 homers.

But yeah, Davies needs pinpoint command or at least well above average command with his stuff and if he doesn't have it, he's going to get crushed.

But we're not a very good team unless we're scoring 6+ runs. Some guy in bf.net asked about it so I looked. 16-4 when we score 6 or more runs, 9-18 now when we score 5 or less.

Thames is like Aaron Hill in that his numbers are boosted by the Reds' **** pitching staff. Thames can still hit against other teams, so he's not completely like Hill but it's basically the same idea. Thames has an OPS under .700 since the last series against the Reds.

Sogard decided to be Babe Ruth over his first 35 plate appearances but he's a terrible hitter.

I think we should probably expect some regression from our catchers.

Shaw is probably doing about what's expected. Maybe a little less average and a little more OBP going forward.

Santana is probably doing what's expected.

I still have no idea why they called Arcia up. We're just wasting service time at this point for a guy who's not ready for the majors.

Our pitching is god awful though which is why it was so funny watching everyone getting excited and wanting us to go out and get Quintana or something. This pitching staff needs far more than one Quintana to even be average, so going out and getting him is just wasting assets at this point.

Espino is getting outs in possible the worst pitching environment in baseball. He absolutely deserves a shot at the rotation over just one single game. He cant be much worse than the real Chase Anderson or Garza. Why not try?

Shoutout to the D-Backs for taking their starter out after 84 pitches. Not sure why they did that.

Haha **** this team.

At least they didn't waste anyone's time hanging on til summer. Making quick work of heading back towards sub .500 baseball.

Who is everyone that got excited?

One guy brought it up and nobody else got even remotely excited by the idea of trading quality prospects for Quintana. At most there was a little talk about what Chicago would ask for, but that was the extent of it.

I'm sure guys like Sparky and his fellow dolts on that station would be for almost any win now move, but i'm certain that most who come on this board and Brewerfan understand that this team is still at least a year or two away, so any trade of our prospects should be for a different prospect or say Broxton/Santana should only be for a prospect or Pre-Arb player. I'm confident that Stearns feels the same.

True enough. The whole let's try to get Quintana cheap was amazingly funny though. Someone trying to get him with Broxton as the main piece etc.

Speaking of Broxton, it will be interesting what Stearns ends up doing with him whenever the team decides that Brinson should get the call to the majors.

Broxton is Pre-Arb until 2020 and not a free agent until 2023, so he'd be attractive to a team in need of a CF. He does K a ton, but brings defense, speed, and power to the position and is cheap for awhile.

Haha. Chase Anderson with the no no so far but pitch count so high he won't see the 7th.
