Seems like Franklin just does enough to stick around.

This is the most frustrating Brewer game in a long time.

Sogard while with the A's walked at a pretty decent rate given he had no power, but this is nuts so far at least.

Guys like Perez and Arcia should pay close attention to that approach Sogard takes by not swinging at pitches which increase the chances of weak contact, besides simply getting on base more via walks.

Perez frustrates me most. He walks a little better than in the past, but he could be a really good hitter (.800+ OPS) if he just laid off more pitches off the plate and instead swung at more pitches he could square up on.

Sogard has basically been everything you want out of a lead-off hitter. As you summed up, his plate discipline is just insane right now. Hopefully Counsell has learned from the past couple weeks, and lets him stay in the lineup until something changes.

Sogard kinda reminds me of Counsell at the plate. Craig was also a very patient hitter who had little pop, but still managed to walk at a good rate, especially given pitchers didn't have to fear a pitch over the plate could result in a gapper or home run.

For whatever reason, way to many hitters are willing to regularly swing at pitches off the plate and as a result help get themselves out. Given the incredible amount of money which can be made in baseball today, you'd think more hitters would maximize their chance to hit well by consistently laying off bad pitches.

No chance Sogard keeps this up but you have to keep putting him in there until pitchers start, you know, actually getting him out.
