Still remember Cole getting butt hurt after Gomez hit either a triple or a home run in Pittsburgh a few years ago and it started a fight. Hated Cole ever since. Let's light this guy up!

Terrible play from Arcia, you have to keep that ball in the infield.

Then Arcia promptly grounds it back to the pitcher for a double play

Outside of that inside the park HR, I don't think Arcia has actually driven a ball in weeks.

Forgive me if this has been discussed, but did they change the camera view this year at MP?

Is Peralta finally out of options? He needs to be the next one DFA's if so. His time is up, he's had an incredible amount of chances to figure it out and it just isn't happening.

Oh look, Brinson isn't starting again but that's just me complaining for no reason. Oh look, another game and no Hader either. You won't use him in close games. You won't use him in blowouts. When the **** are you going to use him if not then?

And Peralta is typically fine if you only bring him out for one inning (or less if another pitcher is struggling). It's when he comes back out after sitting in the dugout when he falls apart.

First inning of relief.

8 IP, 4 ER (unscored on in 7 of 9 appearances), 5 walks (one intentional, three more coming in one outing), 5 hits 7 K

Coming out for a second inning

5.2 IP, 12 ER, 5 BB, 14 hits, 6 K

I have to agree with Twirly. Its beyond stupid at this point to have Hader and Brinson on the active roster. Im sure those guys are enjoying the MLB versus MiLB checks but sitting two top guys is just **** stupid.

In a fun year so far our below .500 record at home is a bit of a bummer.

I think Peralta has had enough time to try and figure it out. I don't know that he's going to 'think' his way out of this. Time to cut ties.

And seriously. Play Hader and Brison. Brinson may go down but Brinson should stay up and either be the long guy or work the 6th-7th until he's comfortable.

I don't think you're complaining for no reason here. Brinson should play if he is up. Given that garbage situation of Colorado Springs, I'm OK if Hader is just used in a bullpen role, but please use him.

Given the hyper-competitive AL and some owners/GMs that like to try to contend every year, it's probably a sellers market.

Even the fan (and Mark) that are interested in trying to compete this year would not have a problem if we traded Garza away (Baltimore comes to mind and they never want to sell) and Broxton or Braun get dealt. Then the problem is mostly solved. You still may have a few too many arms in the rotation but injuries/long relief will probably figure that out.

If these guys just sit in semi-useful roles in the majors all year, that would be dumb. I'm OK if it's just a few weeks until things are sorted out. That's probably not a realistic dream, though, because I doubt they'd have these guys up and waiting on the MLB roster while we are making a hopeful trade.

I think those numbers for Peralta are more likely just randomness than anything else.

It's not as if Peralta is one of those failed starter types who gain velocity by only having to throw one inning. Velocity has never been a problem for him. Willy throws hard all of the time, but he's always struggled to command any of his pitches. Give him enough appearances out of the bullpen, be it just one inning or more and my money would be on him struggling either way.

That said, if the team isn't going to waive Peralta, they should try just using him in only one inning stints to see if he can be better given how bad so many of the other relievers have been. Someone has to be in the bullpen though that can be asked to pitch multiple innings and not be horrific when certain games call for it.

For whatever it's worth, Peralta has been able to tick up the MPH by 1, maybe 2 on average...but yeah, probably not enough of a difference.

The issue with Wily is he used to be a 3 pitch guy. Now he doesnt throw the change at all and cant throw the slider for strikes. Which makes him a single pitch pitcher. His FB is good but not good enough to be a lone weapon. He needs to get back to throwing off-speed for strikes. If he cant he's roster fodder.

Davies is throwing 90 mph junk which is exactly what I was afraid of when we traded for him.
