This team has got it! I just hope Counsell's inexperience as manager doesn't become a liability. He's a tad too conservative in making switches when needed, IMHO.

I heard something about Hader starting on Monday. Yes?
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: Series Thread: Crew @ Marlins
Should be a bullpen by committee day. Hader isnt stretched out for a full starts. They have 9 pen guys right now so he may start but prolly wont go longer than 3.

Rumor is Jungmann or Blazek.

This may be a stupid question, but is it a certainty that Hader's eventual role will be as a starter? Of course, I'm eager to see what he's able to do in that role, but you have to admit he's been pretty good in relief so far. Him, Hughes, Barnes, and Knebel have actually become a decent bullpen. And anyone that takes innings away from Torres is fine by me.

Re: Series Thread: Crew @ Marlins
This is completely off topic, but I just wanted to comment on what has become one of my favorite parts of watching games lately: Seeing the families of players making their first starts in the show. Telecasts have made it a point these days to show the reactions of mom and dad in the stands, and I think it's pretty cool. It really reminds you of the human element. You know damn well that these parents have often sacrificed so much, and given time and energy as their sons move up through the ranks, sometimes not knowing if that day would ever actually come. And when it finally does, you see that overwhelming pure emotion, in the form of both anxiety and pride. I despise the Yankees more than anything, but seeing Frazier's mother cry after he hit a HR in his MLB debut.....that's a cool moment, no matter who you root for.

Re: Series Thread: Crew @ Marlins
Counsell is **** insane for sticking with Guerra after he put the 1st two on to open the 5th inning. What is he thinking?

Arcia - over .350 BA since May 18th and now has his OPS over .750. He still only has about 500 career plate appearances in 134 games.

Re: Series Thread: Crew @ Marlins
Guerra, Davies, and Garza.....yuck, yuck, and yuck. We all knew Garza would suck - it's just what he does. We all knew that Guerra would have his struggles - his success was obviously not sustainable. I think most of us saw foresaw a drop off in Davies, as well, but not to this extent. Thank god for Chase and Jimmy. It's amazing how well the team has done so far, considering it's had only two reliable starters. Now we get to see how well they can do with only one. Yippee!
