I don't get why they sit Santana for Perez. If you want to get hernan in the lineup play him at 2nd and hit arcia leadoff.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

There could be plenty of reasons that they wont tell us, who knows. If its just a regular day off its stupid since yesterday was first game back but maybe he tweaked something.

I mean, not even close. The guy pitching tomorrow has far more value than Franco. I would also give up a ton to get him. Like no prospect would be off limits if we could get Nola.
Not even close? Ehh... if Franco was hitting this year like he had been in the majors so far, it would be him hands down. He's been bleh this year though, so yes I'd give quite a bit more for Nola.
But to say Franco is a nobody (not you)? Lol cmon.
If Franco was hitting this year like he had in the majors, he'd be an average offensive player and a **** defender.Tfence92 wrote:Nola was a 0.0 WAR last year lol
But yes, I'll give you that him being a pitcher makes him more valuable by nature.
Still insane for people to say Franco is a relative unknown.
I don't know how Bref calculates WAR, especially for pitchers but I think it's fair to say that it's complete bull. Nola struck out nearly 10 per 9, walked 2.3 per 9, didn't give up a ton of homers, got a ton of ground balls and didn't allow hard contact. The only thing that was bad was BABIP and LOB% and that tends to normalize around the same range for every pitcher.
Fangraphs had him at 2.8 WAR in 111 innings last year. This year they have him at 1.9 WAR in 80.1 innings. He's actually striking out less guys, giving up more walks and homers, getting less ground balls and giving up more hard contact this year but his BABIP went from .334 to .290 and his LOB% went from 60.6% to 75.5%.
Dude's a really good pitcher and has been since his first start.
And look what park he pitches in, sandbox

Could you imagine a Coshun and Nelson broadcast with Augustine doing Sophia's job? It would be the worst broadcast in the history of sports.

I love reading posts about how people hate Counsells lineups. Hope y'all realize this could be good at the end of the year when our players are well rested.

If some news guy or sports reporter came up and asked me what my thoughts were on the 82 team, my simple two word response would be "they lost."

We can't go 1 game without hearing about the 82 team and it's so pathetic. They lost, just let it go! For a team with a bright future we sure like to bring up our mediocre past
