So our two best prospects heading into the season are being used as an inning eater arm out of the pen and every other day CF behind Keon Broxton.

Cool cool cool.

Probably a last opportunity for Broxton and a chance to reclaim some of his trade value. He did well in CS so maybe there is a chance. I'm guessing Broxton will be sent back down when Jeffress is activated.

Counsell:
"We expected Keon to come back and probably take some of the playing time and quite frankly the bulk of the playing time"

idk what to believe.

when do rosters expand?
September ?
so 1 month of musical chairs and both Broxton and Brinson are up for the rest of the season..and Phillips

So now Broxton is back to steal playing time from our best young prospect? Wow, **** that. This team is making it easy to lose enthusiasm for the stretch run.

I'm not against taking a chance on Keon's trade value at this point. I think Brinson gave them a better chance at winning the division (his defensive instincts being just as important as his superior offensive potential to that end), but never has a 2.5 game deficit seemed more insurmountable at this time of year. Taking a lottery ticket on Keon isn't a bad bet, although it's not my preference.

Same goes for Villar.

I think they're taking once last chance trying to salvage Broxton's value.

I agree this is Keons audition for his new team because lets face it, he's as good as gone this offseason. Hope he kills it and hits .280/.360/.440 odds are he doesnt though

So I'm starting late. But 1st inning for me. I really enjoy watching Pina work behind the dish. Blocks almost everything.

Should probably send Hader down IMO. We might need a vet LOOGY that CC is comfortable with.
