I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I don't believe Broxton is going to get good enough to justify this playing time over Brinson/Phillips. I think Braun will hit until he keels over and is a solid overall baseball player, but the days off and DL stints make him not good enough to justify the playing time over Brinson/Phillips.

I know the Brewers are at most 2.5 games down and there is a lot of season left, but man this Broxton/Braun situation is really an awkward buying-time situation. They are winning just enough to be in contention and not go with rooks and its weird.

I'm getting to the point of wanting to see:

LF - Santana
CF - Brinson
RF - Phillips

... like really bad.

Really, the only reason we're in contention is because the Cubs haven't been good. That's what's been frustrating. We aren't very good but the rest of the division has been mediocre to awful which props us up just enough to make it seem like we're in contention.

The same thing happened to the Twins. They aren't good but were in contention just because the rest of the division isn't that good. They bought, then went on a slide and while they didn't completely sell, they sold what they bought and then a free agent to be reliever.

We bought a couple of nothing relievers that don't really do anything and then stuck our thumb up our ass.

The Brewers didn't trade any of their high value prospects and they really didn't have much to sell to get anything notable back in terms of prospects (other than maybe Knebel, who is worth hanging onto).

I'm ecstatic that the organization held firm at the trade deadline. That was a tremendous relief. I tip my hat to them for being patient.

Given Attanasio's comments about not falling in love too much with your prospects I'm going to credit Stearns with squashing any buy impulses Mark A. had.

Dude. Who expected it to even GET to this point before the season started?

They could lose the rest of the way out and they would have just about met my expectations for the season.

If they can build on this season's start next year then they'll be in good shape.

I'll be very surprised if Broxton isn't traded in the offseason for whatever Stearns can get for him. Then come next year i expect Brinson to be handed the CF job and Phillips to be the 4th outfielder.

Since Braun should miss anywhere from 30-70 games between various strains and pulls, along with Phillips likely getting some starts in CF if/when Brinson goes in some funks, Phillips should end up getting a good amount of playing time, regardless if he isn't initially given an everyday job as Brinson will be.

You won't see me complain much. Every win or surprise performance is just gravy. This year is just a small taste of things to come. Look at all the assets we have that we didn't even know were assets.

It would have been nice to get something for Braun and maybe even sell a few guys like Knebel or Anderson or Shaw, but with the rebuild ahead of schedule, there's plenty of justification for keeping them.

I apologize for coming to the Cities to watch the Brewers. Won't happen again.

Yep, now Garza will go into reverse contract mode, play so bad we don't pick up his 5M option so he can go try to get another deal where he absolutely sucks but gets paid

The recent string of good starts is what made it truly Garzaesque. Dare we hope for a waiver deal?

It's not just the 5 million for me. I want someone younger given a shot in the rotation next year over Garza who will be 34.

Garza reminds me of a poor mans version of Gallardo as Yovani aged. Could give you a decent 5-6 innings sometimes, but with to many base runners on, high pitch counts, and always fearing disaster is lurking at any point because of very mediocre stuff.

If Garza pitches well, I pick up the option 100% with the intent of trading him, 100% want him gone.
