Less than a 1/4 of season remains and the Brewers are lurking in the playoff race. It's time to jinx this son of bitch and make a thread tracking the progress.
As of 8.21.17.
Division:
1. Cubs (7 games against, 4 Home)
2. Brewers -2
3. Cardinals -3.5 (5 games, 2 Home)
Wild Card:
In: Rockies +1
In: Diamondbacks 0
1st Out: Brewers -2.5
2nd Out: Cardinals -4
Brewers have no games remaining against Rockies nor D-bags. However AZ/Colorado have 7 games against one another yet. And the Dodgers play 10 combined against AZ (3) and Colorado (7) yet, so hopefully they keep rolling other than this weekend.

At least being in the WC race gives us two paths. We really need to at least split the remaining 6 games in this trip. Have to at least take 2 in SF.

We miss Bumgarner, we miss Kershaw and Darvish because of the DL. Scherzer is on the DL and won't pitch in the Washington series so we're pretty lucky in missing some top pitchers in the coming week or two.

Agreed, think they need to split too somehow. It certainly is going to be interesting.
What is the vibe around Milwaukee? My general feel is people are pleasantly surprised but aren't completely going all-in so not alot of Brewers mania. Plus now the Pack have started.

I don't hear any Brewers talk around here, just Packers.

Yeah, seems like the post all-star slump took some casuals out of it. I did see attendance is up by like 8-9% per game this year so far. That should hold if playing meaningful ball in September. No games for me again this year, at least so far.

Brewers do a good job marketing and their give aways are popular.

Saw Witrado say Yu will make his first start off DL against us.

Crew dropped to -2.5 out of 1st and -3.5 out of Wild Card after last night's loss.
Games of note tonight:
Cubs at Reds
D-bags at Mets
Padres at Cardinals
Rockies at Royals

No change in division race, but now -3 out of Wild Card with Rockies loss. Also moved another game ahead of the Cardinals.

6th in the NL, and 3.5 games out of 3rd. That's a good number to note because it shows there are 3 teams they have a chance of catching and only one of them needs to struggle to give the Brewers a chance.

Key game today. Being 4-2 heading to L.A. would be nice. This weekend Cubs have Philly, Rockies have Braves and DBacks have Giants.

So who is going to be the Packers 6th and 7th WR?.... think they can sneak Dupree and McCaffrey on the PS.

At this point, Wild Card is all I'm focused on. Fully anticipate being 5.5 games out of the division at best by the end of the weekend.

The Cubs, Rockies, and D-Backs have tons of issues too. You hate the race to morph into a battle to screw up the least, but that's how it's shaping up.

It's a good place to be in for this club. They're in contention for the playoffs without sacrificing their future to get there. At the very least, it'll make September meaningful for the Crew and for the youngins who will be hoping to make a leap next season.

If you had to drop a large sum of cash on the Brewers making the playoffs or finishing under 500, which way do you go?
