Same. Two worst contracts in team history. And the folks who defend Garza, and the decision to keep Garza in the rotation, sound exactly the same as the folks who defended Suppan. "Other than the 3rd and 6th innings, Sup pitched great..." "Garza actually pitched pretty well in 4 of his last 6 starts..." "Take away that leadoff walk, walk, homer, homer, double, triple, walk, homer inning and he actually put together a solid outing..." "Garza's ERA was pretty respectable until..." Other than that one mistake to that one guy and that other mistake to that other guy..."

You can literally do that with every shi**y pitcher in the history of baseball. The problem is every inning, outing, hitter, mistake, and start counts. Yet I turn on the radio or open Twitter and someone is always defending these busters.

I don't think anyone is really defending Garza or Suppan other than the fact that Garza is possibly worth $5 million as a fringe #5 starter. I personally think it's for trade bait, but if he pitches poorly enough, he could be bad enough that it's not worth keeping.

If they can work their magic on faking DL injuries or shuffling some stuff around in trade (I would suggest simply trading Garza for a somewhat valuable reliever), it is not a terrible thing to have 8 or 9 MLB-caliber starting pitchers in your organization.

Throw a couple of legitimate injuries in there and I'm not happy throwing Espino out there for an extended period of time.

I'm less worried about Garza than the unreliable offense. They are anemic way too often, even against some of the least impressive pitchers in all of baseball (Bailey, Colon, Moore).

He was standing on 3rd before the ball was caught b/c the hit and run was on apparently

If he's paying any attention at all he has plenty of time to get back, tag up, and get to 3rd on that. That ball was in the air forever.

Another s*** hit goes for crucial runs. It's probably magnified but I've never seen a team getting beat by so many garbage hits

Excellent fielding by Braun to keep to only 2 runs instead of 3.
