Hey, you know what color isn't used on uniforms nearly enough? Neon yellow.

The yellow hat looks trash.
That might have been the hardest Arcia has ever hit a ball.

Sure did. They should play it every time Tormund comes up to bat.

Crazy how perfect you've gotta be to be close to these guys.

Did the Brewers really have to be "perfect" though? Anything other than the abysmal offense we've been trotting out day after day would've given the team a completely reasonable opportunity to win this game. The Dodgers are great, yeah, but it's not like they are the only team that's been able to shut down our anemic offense over the last two months.

Also, at what point does Aguilar finally get a shot at being the everyday first baseman?

Re: Series Thread: Brewers @ Dodgers
Yeah, I don't really think Aguilar is a starter but Thames has basically been unplayable since April. .324 wOBA, 93 wRC+. That's pretty much the same player he was in 2011 and 2012 combined. When you factor in his **** defense, he's basically been a replacement level or worse player since the beginning of May. What was he at in April, like a 1.6 or 1.7 WAR or something? Well he's 1.5 now, so he's been below replacement for the majority of the season.

Thames still has an OPS of .921 against rhp's, whereas Aguilar is at .806 against them. Thames also has 3 months with an OBP over .360 (.354 total), whereas Aguilar has only 2 months over .310 (.331 total). I'm not a Thames guy or anything but let's not act like Aguilar is the answer either. Both of them benefit greatly from playing in a platoon. Both of them look pretty awful if you take away their best month. Also, you can't change your mind every month about which player is better. Just last month, Thames had an OPS of .861 and Aguilar was at .699. And Aguilar also had an OPS of .802 in his minor league career, which is kind of abysmal for a 1b (Thames was at .892).
They're a serviceable platoon and they're roughly equal players if you consider defense. They've been used perfectly and the Brewers have gotten much better production out of the 1b spot than you could have reasonably expected at the beginning of the year because of it.

Re: Series Thread: Brewers @ Dodgers
I turned it off after Hughes gave up the HR. Holding them to 3 runs is impressive but this offense is in a serious slump. Or is this really just what it looks like after an incredible start?
Thames looks lost up there.
I encourage everyone to make a sheet cake today and enjoy it. Go Crew!

To be fair to Thames, he hit two balls really hard that LA outfielders just made nice plays on.

I love Aguilar's story, no doubt. But, man, if he's not raking his defense is absolutely abysmal. Like, Prince Fielder level abysmal...without Prince's bat. Meh.

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd even keep Aguilar next year. Braun or Santana should start learning the position asap, and you could also play Shaw there eventually if it proves easier to upgrade via 3b than 1b.

I hear you. I guess I just mean in general since his ridiculous hot start. He reminds me of that other muscle bound dude from BOS that used to play on the Brewers. What was that guys name?
I mean looks hot in a uniform but not very athletic. Or I should say, 'muscle bound'. Is there a better word for that please?

Is there a 'Random Thoughts' type thread like on brewerfan? Or is that on the Bucks forum?

There's a General Off Topic thread on the Bucks forum that allows for plenty of random discussion.Iheartfootball wrote:Is there a 'Random Thoughts' type thread like on brewerfan? Or is that on the Bucks forum?
