Some more details on the fight between AJ Bayatpour and Ben Jordan:

The couple noticed Bayatpour at the game and invited him to sit with them in extra seats. Around the sixth inning, Anderson showed Bayatpour a photo of a bulldog on her phone and said it represented how she felt.

He said he thought Anderson looked disinterested. Anderson perceived the comment that she appeared disinterested as somehow pertaining to her on-air appearance as a TV reporter. Jordan asked Bayatpour to step away, but he said he was still watching the game.

After the game ended, Jordan asked Bayatpour to apologize. He did, though he also reiterated his comments about Anderson seeming “disinterested.” The conversation then escalated after Bayatpour said Jordan threatened him, which led to Bayatpour “instinctively” reacting and punching Jordan three times. Cops found Jordan with a broken nose, a chipped tooth, and orbital bone fractures.

Bayatpour's mugshot makes me think he was drunk af. The story of what happened basically confirms it. That's the reason you're punching the dude in the face? Can't imagine him not getting fired. A felony that got out in public and it's hard to imagine Anderson and Bayatpour working in the same area again.

I'm sure he had a few. But I still don't get what was so offensive about calling the dog "disinterested?" Sounds like the fiance took this too far as well.

He was probably so drunk he misunderstood. I would also like to know how he was threatened. Did Jordan come after him and that's when he punched or was it something else? I could understand throwing the punches if Jordan comes after him and he thinks he's going to get punched so he threw a couple of punches to prevent himself from getting hit. Other than that though, I don't think there was a reason to throw punches.

Doesn't the text say he thought the girl was disinterested? Not the dog?

Sorry, I should have shared the other quote.

He said he told her the picture seemed to suggest disinterest instead of anger and teasingly told Anderson she should have shown him a picture of Jay Cutler, the former Chicago Bears quarterback.

The whole thing is really weird. To me it sounds like she showed him a picture of a dog that looked disinterested, which to me means she's probably not a huge baseball fan and was bored at the game. Bayatpour took that to mean that she was disinterested in her job, probably because he was drunk and confronted her on that which led to Jordan asking him to leave. He wanted to stay because he was still watching the game and then the fight started after the apology after the game and everything.

Maybe I'm reading that wrong but that's what I took from it.

It's confusing because the quotes don't make sense. One quote suggests he directly called her disinterested. The other quote suggests he called the dog disinterested. In either case, that should not be cause for any sort of fight.

He probably was obnoxious about it (drunk as hell can do that).
She probably took it as a dig at her (maybe she's insecure about being perceived as disinterested).
Her fiance wanted to be her knight in shining armour and "PROTECT HIS WOMAN."
Alcohol was involved.

That just sounds like a recipe for some dumbassery.

Exactly and unless they can prove that Jordan came in fists up ready to fight and Bayatpour was just protecting himself, I don't see how this ends any other way than Bayatpour being guilty (or accepting a plea bargain) and getting fired from Fox 6.

All I know is I need a Chappelle Show "When keepin it real goes wrong" reenactment.

Yeah he's gotta be done at 6. He definitely looks lit up in the mug shot. Sounds like they were all friends and now booze has messed up his career/life. Especially if the felony sticks. I image it will be pled down to a misdemeanor.

Alright now that we're away from the damn Cubs and Cardinals hopefully we can play a few clean games and take a nice 7-2 victory someday. I just want a win that keeps my heart rate below 200

Yeah, the Mets are definitely a very good team when fully healthy. We might be waiting on that blowout win.

That's fair. Matz isn't throwing the slider anymore and Harvey is still at 92/93, not 95/96. We could touch them up. They're still good at the bottom of a rotation.

Their offense is actually pretty damn good but it won't be in 2 months when Cespedes, Cabrera, and whoever else have their random midseason injuries.
