We were shut out 8 times all of last year. We are all ready at 7 this year and we added two good hitters. I think I am going to join Trwi7 on the dark side. Go Admirals.

This felt like it might be the last gasp of Eric Sogard. Counsell gave him three starts in a row to try and give him another chance to get going and he didn't exactly seize the opportunity.

This is about what I expect form the Brewers. Beat the bad teams. Split series with the middle-of-the-road teams. Get swept by playoff teams. They are an average team.

Yep. They have mediocre starting pitching. With that rotation how can you expect more? Also, they played above expectations last year. Lots of folks saw a regression coming.

This is basically how the 2011 team got it done. Beating bad teams.

Get **** Sogard out of here so maybe we beat a few more mediocre/good teams.

This continues to be my lone beef with Counsell. And it pisses me off probably more than it should. But the offense has been shutout 7 times already this season. (compared to only 8 times all of last year) Other than injuries, and to be fair our starters have missed quite a few games, Counsell's constant tinkering of the lineup has been nauseating. Finding starts for our bench guys, Hernan Perez and Eric Sogard, in hopes of "keeping them fresh" at the expense of should-be fixtures Orlando Arcia and to a lesser extent, Jonathon Villar, is getting old quick. Yes, Braun has been in and out, Yelich with an early DL stint, Thames now on the DL, our catchers have been brutal at the plate, Shaw/Santana are struggling... But hitting is contagious. Play your best guys and maybe something clicks. Stop forcing Eric Sogard into the lineup.

I agree with the majority of your post, but I believe that "hitting is contagious" because teams face **** pitching all at the same time. It'll be contagious later this week in Colorado given the hitting environment.
