Davies threw a BP today and should be the starter for Friday. I think Chacin gets lit up tomorrow night.

I wouldn't be confident in the Rockies offense lighting anyone up. They're pretty bad.

Hopefully can manage a split or better in the next 10. NL shaping up to be pretty good, many teams over 500 and that doesn't include the Dodgers who should get it going at some point I'd think. Obviously some teams will drop off, but Brewers I don't think can afford many bad stretches this year.

You know this, and I agree that they're trotting out some trash, but now healthy enough with Dahl up, they'll put up some runs at home.

I will eat feces if even 3 of the 4 games in this series end 1-0. (Yes, I realize you're joking).

Nothing like Coors Field to cure all that ails you.

Ump is cheating. Pitch right down middle upper part of zone he calls ball.

Ump cheated again. Cain should be on third. Never knew umps could interfere with a play.

Yeah this bullpen is really stacked. Knebel + Hader is an insane top 2 in itself and then you have dependable pitchers down the board to boot

Thank you to Stearns and Counsell for making it not an imperative thing to have defined bullpen roles.

Yeah, boys. I echo y’all: this bullpen is ridiculous. Imagine if Boone Logan actually finds some form. Jeffress was ridiculous tonight. Touching 97 on the corners w a filthy filthy splitter. Yikes. No Ducky. No Sogard. I am a happy camper even if the offense continues to suck a@@.

It will be interesting to see how Counsell handles the bullpen going forward.
He mentioned post game that he brought Knebel in the 8th because he wanted Cory to face that part of the Rockies order. Will he stick with being random based on a given game situation since all three of Knebel, Jeffress, and Hader have dominant stuff?
With all of the praise those three will get, Albers is sitting there with a 1.13 ERA and 1.063 WHIP and Colorado spent about 100 million on their poorly performing pen.

While I agree that the Brewers have been crafty as hell with their bullpen and that Colorado overpaid its relievers, their salary structure allowed them to do so (every starter they have is early in their career).
I think some of their bullpen’s #s are misleading. Davis and Ottavino have been good, Shaw has been good except for getting lit up twice at Coors, ditto on McGee (once on the road). Dunn has sucked.
The rest of their bullpen is garbage but that may partially explain why they paid so much for their top 4.
