I assume this doesn't hurt the product on the field having another company come in to pay significantly more for something. In theory they should be putting that toward contracts like Grandal.

Funny thing is it's been Miller Park for so long people will still call it that for years after the change. There are still people here in Phoenix that call the park 'the bob'

Always best to be first when it comes to stadium naming deals.

In my pointless opinion, naming rights should be signed for the length of the stadium, or if there is a major renovation. I'm still mad for some unknown reason they added BMO to the Bradley Center.

Great in theory, but not in execution. So much could change over the life of a contract, and you don't know how long a stadium will truly stay open for. You could build-in some out clauses to account for those scenarios...or just have contracts like they do today.

But I do like it in theory.

It'll be American Family Insurance Field, so people will call it AmFam Field. They'll stick to the "F" theme like Lambeau Field and Fiserv Forum.

I'm not sure they'd have one. I think the promotion is so that it makes it harder for someone to try to interview him/steal him away.
