What does everyone think of Derek Dietrich? Last 2 years .250 and .260 BA with over .330 OBP and 13/16 HRs. That's pretty good in Miami.

I know he's super dreamy and should probably just play every game with his shirt off (according the Le Batard local hour).

Brewers have one top 100 prospect (Keston at #20) according to the Pipeline. Hmmm.

Nobody should be surprised by that.

Keston Hiura is the top 2B prospect in baseball, we will probably see him playing 2B for the Brewers sometime this year.

Next year Turang will make it.

I would bet against that.

1250 just retweeteed a report stating keuchel has 3 teams
Braves update: Am told Dallas Keuchel down to 3 teams:
HOU, offer 2 yrs, plus option.. MIL offer 3 yrs, ATL a finalist, no detail on offer

I saw this as well, and I'm curious what the offer from Atlanta is and what the numbers are from Houston/Milwaukee. I'm an Astros fan and would love to see him stay, especially on that kind of a deal if the money is right and even more so now with Morton gone and McCullers out for the season with TJS.

Besides, can't let Harden be the only one in Houston with a hideously ridiculous beard.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

Wonder if this means Keuchel isn't going back there now. Very interested to see how much Miley got. I do find myself slightly surprised that there never seemed to be a ton of interest in a return to Brewers.

I guess his sketchy track record and missing a chunk of the season last year worked against him but this seems like a relative bargain to me. **** Matt Harvey got $11 million and Trevor Cahill got like $9 million.

That seems like a super reasonable number for Miley that I would have been fine with the Brewers doing. Wonder what they have up their sleeve as an alternative plan. But I do think you're right that him not being the fittest dude in the world probably scared some teams away from bigger money/years.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

$4.5 for 1 year seems like nothing to try and see if he retain the success he had

Maybe something bigger is in the works and they cant afford 4.5mill more. They are already over their typical cap.

Right, agree.

They are definitely pushing their own cap and: "oh, that's nothing for Miley," "that's nothing for Cabrera," "that's nothing for Brach" ends up adding up to $10-$20 million more throwing those darts so a team like the Brewers still has to be careful, especially after 1 year on Grandal.

While I agree, I'd have preferred to trade Thames for basically nothing and used that money to keep Miley around, even if you only let him play the second half of the season.
