I was feeling real confident after this sweep but now with a few days to think about it, the Dodgers seem like they’re gonna be really hard to beat. Just scared how our starting pitching is gonna stack up. Gonna be hard to do so much bullpenning with so little time off. The 2-3-2 format scares me also. Means we HAVE to win games 1 & 2. What’s everyone else’s gut feeling on how this series is gonna go?

I don't think the construction will be a big deal on a Saturday afternoon. But you will be late regardless. Sorry to hear that. The time is perfect for me because the Badger game is at 6:30

Just for comparison sake, Brewers payroll in 2011 was $92 million which was 17th in the league. This year they were at $109 million which was 22nd. If they were 17th this year it would have been $131 million. So assuming Mark A wants to keep up with the Joneses I think there's a real good chance they get to $130 at some point in the near future. I think he's making money hands over fist even without a sweetheart TV deal (which I believe they get a new one after next season).

Yea, Attanasio is a great owner, but he's already made a lot of money owning the team and that's doesn't account for the fact that the team is likely worth around three times what he paid for it.

The key is spending smartly more so than trying to hit a certain payroll target. Attanasio has shown that he'll spend reasonably well if he believes it will help a potentially contending team.

It also seems like he's chosen to stay out of free agent decisions like he did with Melvin where reports were that he was heavily involved with signing Suppan, Lohse, and Garza. Moves that backfired. I'm sure he regularly talks with Stearns about major decisions, but it looks like he mainly allows Stearns to do what he wants without interference.

Agree, the key is spending smartly.

In the offseason the Brewers are said to have offered Darvish a $100M contract, but the Cubs upped their offer to $126M and got him. In hindsight, the Cubs have saved the Brewers from making a big spending mistake.

While the Cubs signed Darvish and Chatwood to big contracts in the offseason, Stearns got Chacin and Miley in much smaller contracts instead. And it turns out that the smart spending by Stearns have produced much better results.

I agree that Attanasio doesn't meddle or interfere with Stearns job. One good example was when Boras kept calling Attanasio to intervene on Arrieta, but Attanasio stuck by Stearns instead.

Sometimes it arrives early, so I guess I can hope it arrives 1:30pm, and I can quickly get out of immigration and get my bag and go. Maybe I can get there by 4pm or 4:30pm.

With the win streak, and a month of must win games, I hope it's good for our guys to take a breath. The concerns are obvious, but I think there is reason to believe it could be a positive

Off days- is great for our bullpen. They all will be rested and ready to go with ease. The offense it can hurt, but both teams had off days- so game 1- maybe one of those 2-1 type of games without much offense.

In '82 only 2 teams per league made the playoffs. Tough. But you only had to win a 5 game series to get to the WS. In '57 it was just one team per league. Win your league, get in the WS.

So just doing a simple conversion. We have a 43 percent chance of playing in the World Series :O :P

George Webbs is going to honor their 12-game winning streak promotion if the Brewers win Game 1.

That is, if you can still find a Webbs in your neighborhood.

That decisive Cecil Cooper hit in Game 5 of the 82 ALCS remains one of my most memorable moments in Milwaukee sports history. In the TMI department, I was so nervous watching that game that I set a personal best for most times taking a piss in one nine-inning game.

I'd assume friday morning. I know they're going to 12 pitchers for this one, my guess is Davies, hopefully Schoop gets left off

I don't think Schoop will be. You've got Hernan as essentially as your only backup IF as currently constructed, otherwise. Could throw Thames in there but you leave yourself exposed at SS backup options.

True, could be either Domingo or Broxton who gets left off, feel like Broxtons D+running skills keeps him on though. Honestly have no idea
