The 'you go on win percentage, you may not all play the same number of games' deal does not work at all if teams get to start deciding when they don't want to travel.

And to be clear, I am not at all saying that they shouldn't have that right.

League should probably set a threshold as to what's considered an 'outbreak' like 10+ players or something then that team forfiets it's games until they get under that threshold.

It's a big mess and if it continues to happen they will have to pull the plug on the season.

Marlins and Phillies seasons are now "paused". Whatever the **** that means.

I don't understand what postponing Marlins games through Sunday does. That's 5 days away? They're switching schedules on the fly, clearly lack protocol - this entire thing is a mess.

The players didn't want a bubble and it is much harder than NBA to pull off, football is nearly impossible to do a bubble.

I'm sure some intermediate planning/contingency plans are **** up but I'm going to enjoy baseball in whatever form I can get it. If there are more outbreaks, I don't know, maybe they're in trouble...but if not, it's just going to have to be a bunch of doubleheaders in a row and some altered schedule.

Glass half full and also I'm not sure what else they can do given that they backed themselves into 60 games into 66 days or whatever. They probably should've built in 2-3 weeks of slack on the schedule just in case.

I mean, not have a season because it's a logistical nightmare. I understand your points about why 'they have to' and next year, but these are extraordinary circumstances. It doesn't mean they ever should have done it in the first place.

We don't need to go down this road again, but I'm just saying that is the 'what else they can do'.

Apparently the Marlins had a bit of fun including a visit to a strip club in Atlanta prior to their outbreak. Idiots

Throwing at someones head is actually bad. Some real odd takes from this one.

Yea, I'm not going to get up in arms over that suspension. I get it from MLB. Throwing at guys needs to be taken out of this league, especially throws at the head. You also have to come down extra hard or it's just going to keep happening.

The issue here IMO isn't what this suspension is. The issue is the suspensions that didn't come from the Astros cheating scandal. And in that way, MLB/Manfred set themselves up for this. If they didn't think this was coming, they're absolute morons.

Don't really know what MLB could have done much differently. If the players aren't granted immunity, they don't talk and the investigation goes no where.

But either way, my point still stands. Nobody should be intentionally throwing at batters.

I 100% agree. My post was in no way meant to refute either of your posts. I think the 'unwritten rules' about retaliation, etc. are stupid, so I'm obviously not on board with throwing at guys' heads. I was trying to convey that in my post but obviously missed that point.

The immunity thing was never black and white. I don't recall all of the details at this point, but didn't the league ultimately decide to grant immunity to the players because they thought they'd never win appeals because the Astros players never got a memo about sign stealing?

It's all so **** stupid.

Before the season is mercifully cancelled, I'd like to say my AL Cy Young pick of The Biebs was looking mighty fine through 2 starts. Dude's got 27Ks already, lol.

The 4 game series between the Cards and the Tigers was postponed because the Cards suffered a COVID-19 outbreak.

While I hate to "promote" a Dodger, everyone should watch this bananas Dustin May pitch.

Cardinals postponed again. Had gone three days with no positive tests, then a player today tested positive. Wonder if it starts another outbreak.
