I'm guessing 6-8 weeks, just like any other broken bone. As long as there is no other issue with the knee, he should be just fine for next season.

I mean who knows because we don't have all of the details but I've seen other doctors suggest 6-8 weeks as long as surgery isn't required.

Sucks that, at the most important time of the season, we're without arguably our three best offensive players (Yelich, Moose and Keston). That's some bad luck.

My lord this just gets worse. Hopefully it’s no surgery otherwise next season is tanked. No surgery I’m guessing he’d still miss the first month. What an absolute nightmare on a stupid fluke play.

Yeah who knows. It really depends how bad it is.

Pardon my ignorance, but how does one surgically repair a fractured knee cap? Screws?

Seems like such weird/bad luck injury.

I believe so, depending how bad it is but usually pins and screws.

What a bummer, usually guys walk it off after getting hit in the foot or leg but I knew it was bad as soon as he sat down

Well this is about the best news. Man I hope this is true. Was getting really depressed about him missing time next year. This is like pie in the sky but if they would make it to say the World Series, wouldn’t that be about 6 weeks away? Maybe like a Kirk Gibson pinch hit?

I hope Jim Bowden didn't just google the injury like I did yesterday and has actual legit Brewers/Yelich sources on this.

Yelich back by game 1 of world series. This is our year, just like every year......if we make playoffs.

https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/27600412/brewers-yelich-need-surgery-knee

Milwaukee Brewers star outfielder Christian Yelich does not need surgery on his fractured right kneecap and is not expected to suffer any long-term effects from the injury.

Brewers general manager David Stearns told reporters Thursday that Yelich's leg will be "immobilized for a while," saying the expected recovery time frame is eight to 10 weeks.

Stearns also said that Yelich would seek a second opinion either this weekend or next week.

"At this point, it looks like we've dodged a little bit of a bullet," Stearns said. "He will not need surgery."
