Figured it was worth creating a separate thread for us to discuss general Brewers happenings that are not quite thread-worthy on their own.

Pretty big blow, man. He was lights out when he returned and into the playoff run. You don’t just replace that type Of High pressure out getting.

He was so great for September after he blew up a bit. Sad to see him gone for a year but he made the right choice

TJ is basically a two year recovery time, right? A year plus of rehab, and several additional months of just rebuilding your mechanics and endurance?
I'm guessing we won't see him until the ASB at the earliest next year.

I don't think its THAT long. Strasburg had TJ back in 2010 in September, in 2011 he was back starting guys in September.

12-15 months.
Dr. James Andrews estimates the same, but notes:
The average pitcher returns to game action 12-16 months following surgery but that time varies greatly by individual. In a recent study by Erickson et al., Major League pitchers returned in as little as 11 months and as many as 30 months. The player's return also depends on when the surgery is performed in the context of the baseball season as well as the severity of the injury. Players, parents and coaches should remember that each injury is unique and has its own timeline for recovery.

Whats up with Brett Lawire? I know they said he used spring training to get back into baseball shape- which was reasonable. Is he going to be playing in what they call extended spring training? I didn't see him on any of the depth charts- i figured they would start him of in High A or something.

They are taking it really slow with Lawrie. Like super extended spring training then minors. There was an article about it a while back but can't find. He might be in minors this year then maybe have a shot in Sept.

He's been out of baseball since 2016. I'd be surprised if he's in the majors by mid-season, or at all.

The Brewers and Mariners have made a trade, per a Mariners team announcement. The Brewers will acquire catcher David Freitas from Seattle in exchange for minor league pitcher Sal Biasi. Freitas will report to Triple-A with his new team.

Sorry I am sure it has been discussed, but what is the earliest I can see Keaton without losing a year of service time?
