Four games at home against them to open the season, another series this week and then we to to St. Louis next week. Weird scheduling. Then we go there again in August and September?. We're done with the Dodgers this week also.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

WTF Peralta, 5 pitches in, 2 solo shots? :o

EDIT: 8 pitches in, 2 back-to-back solo shots, 1 hit batter. :o :o

A one pitch pitcher who's one pitch is a 90mph fastball.

Peralta might need to head back to AAA until he can reliably throw something other than a fastball.

Pitching is scaring me. They were able to mask it last year with an elite bullpen but their pen is beat up now. Burnes and Peralta can barely get through lineups twice.

As much as I would love for them to go after Keuchel or Kimbrel, I'm a bit more concerned with the loss of Derek Johnson. What was that about?

Other than making a move for one of those FAs, I'm not sure what they can do other than ride it out with these young starters and hope they build some rhythm. It would be nice to get more than one reliever that I have confidence in. The Knebel injury and Soria departure hurt.

I could see them riding it out until later in the season and if their offense + Hader keeps them alive but Woodruff/Burnes/Peralta aren't up to snuff...grabbing a few mid-level starters and seeing if Woodruff and Burnes could create the magic again in the bullpen. Seems illogical the way they are throwing now but maybe they are just electric mid-inning guys. Or maybe we're screwed without Johnson.

I was only casually paying attention but when I looked on my phone it was 6-3 or 6-4 with Goldy up and a few guys on base. I'd have gone to Hader there. Guerra, et al can finish it off later if you hold the lead at all.

The pitching is concerning to say the least.

Yeah, I'm a bit surprised that Counsell hasn't been more aggressive with using Hader in high leverage situations instead of focusing on save opps.

So far there has been enough of a path to marry both in a lot of games. He went with Hader earlier in the Dodgers game on Friday knowing that there was a good shot he wouldn't make it all the way through (he didn't) but I do agree that there have been certain games where an earlier opportunity was not used.
