Cubs are apparently shutting down everyone. **** them. Hope they enjoy sitting on their asses again this fall.

Go Crew. Beat the Rockies.

Cleveland still barely in it so they'll be trying for at least one game against the Nats.

It really pisses me off that Joe Maddon has decided that the Brewers' shot at winning the division by taking this Rockies series will probably fall short.

I've always hated the Cubs, but I didn't really hate the Cardinals until the La Russa era. What I hated about the La Russa Cardinals was that they thought they were the goddam high priests of baseball and could tell everybody else how to follow the unwritten rules.

This unwritten rule -- you don't lay down when your performance affects a pennant race -- is one I endorse. That probably makes me a hypocrite, but I don't care. I've never seen anything like this, or like Maddon getting in front of the narrative and saying he doesn't give a **** what the Brewers think.

Think about the effect this has on his own players. OK, he's out the door, but he's likely to have a future in baseball, or at least some kind of legacy, even HOF consideration as a manager. Kiss that goodbye, Mr. Don't Give a ****.

The Cubs 3 best hitters are hurt. Why would they play them?

That's true. But what are they saving Darvish and Hendricks for? Celebrity basketball?

OK, Darvish may have a physical issue, but if the Cubs hadn't been eliminated he would certainly be pitching this weekend.

I didn't really understand the comments from Maddon unless someone from the Brewers said something that I missed. Are we in their heads that much that he feels the need say this stuff unprovoked?

Most of the Cubs have been playing with broken spines for weeks now. Some of them have apparently even had their spines amputated. How could anyone expect them to keep playing now that they have nothing to play for? The reserves will probably be better. (Serious about that last part.)

I mean, I don't really see a problem with this lineup.

No Moustakas for the second game in a row. I haven't seen anything indicating that he's hurt but it seems pretty impossible that he would be sitting out again if everything was fine.

A reporter asked him about it out of the blue, he responded, and now everyone is attributing whining about the Cubs' lineup to the Brewers.

What was that from Cain? Pretty casual route and effort on that fly ball that didn't land too far away from him.

I thought so to. He was to worried about faking out the runner.

Cain's lean back swing has so much swag.

Anything Hiura does at 2nd that isn't a routine play is terrifying. Hell, even the routine plays are a little scary.

Cardinals on the board first. Cubs have had some opportunities but continue to be useless.
