They should really just shut him down for a few weeks and let him leave the team and come back and try to reboot fresh

did I miss something? is frelick a roided-up dick?

I'm holding out for Tony Gwynn. :-)

I know his mother has cancer and I’ve wondered if that’s weighed into his play.

I agree though, I think it’d be best for him to shut things down. I felt that way when he got demoted

What a year. Toolsy as hell and has the production to match.

the MLB site has him as the Brewers 23rd ranked prospect (and the ranking is after the last draft, because Frelick and others are on the list). Seems he should be much higher, and even in the top 100 across all teams.

Kid from Oak Creek, third round pick this summer, is having a nice start to his career. .884 OPS at 3B.

Is our minor league all of a sudden really really good? If not really really good, it seems like the top prospects have a lot of upside and seem like they will be MLB players.

The pitching we've developed is insane. First time watching Ashby last night and it is like, oh my god we have another absolute stud that should be here next year, plus now Lauer looks good too. It's almost like we have too much good pitching, which is not a possible problem to have

I think there are several players in the system right now who will have fine major league careers. They are short on the elite prospects (top 50 in baseball), but are pretty good in the 51-300 range. Most of that depth seems to be among hitters.

It's interesting how for a while most of the minor league strength was in the pitching. Now it's in the hitting. But there hasn't been an equal amount of quality pitching and hitting at the same time for a while now. I don't know if that's intentional or happenstance.

They really should have. Take him to that lab in Arizona or something. He's struck out in 9 of his last 12 ABs, including all 3 ABs last night. He's mentally broken. This is a pretty epic case of the yips.

Specifically on the pitching side we have found/developed some really good guys lately, no doubt about that. From a position player standpoint, there's still a lot of room for improvement. Just not a lot of homegrown guys that have found significant MLB success in that department. Hopefully this next round of guys will have a few that breakthrough but I'm not 100% sold on anyone as can't miss or anything like that.

I think we are in a great position to deal for a big time talent. We have young pitching that could headline the trade along with some nice guys in the minors.

Maybe that is the route we should go this offseason. Maybe move Cain, Lauer, etc. to try and really upgrade the team?
